  • Love the movie, adore that scene, thanks so much! :) That song is one of my all time faourites, and they do it beautifully. Imelda Staunton has a beautiful voice.

  • "Now do the coffee jingle." That gets me everytime. XD

  • I Love this movie.. Great cast, incredible performances and THIS SONG!!!!! :o)

  • I think that Hugh Laurie and Imelda Staunton are absolutely fantastic here.

He actually manages to play the trumpet and the piano at the same time...it's amazing. And it gives me goosebumps when Staunton and Emma Thompson sing in parts.

  • Here's the thing... the film tried to capitalize on the whole American ensemble character driven dramedy idea, and these actor are too good for it... it feels like it tried too hard somehow. Of course Stephen Fry can do no wrong. And this is a terrific take on a classic, which is great.

  • Love the movie, love the actors, love the song... <3

  • Well I think its a great film, the exploration of characterr and the trials of long term friendships are well done and the acting is superb.

  • Quenching or clenching?

Ive never quenched my buttocks before, I dont know about you!

But you have a point, its a bit self indulgent isnt it.

  • I watch this video every single day. It's my absolute favourite song - just with this cast!

  • I've just found out that Rita Rudner's husband Martin Bergman was in Footlights and obviously had the inspiration for the story. (See Wikipaedia for the full story)

  • Although this film seems to be autobiographical about a reunion (ostensibly ex Cambridge Footlights) of those old friends; Branagh, Thompson, Fry, Laurie and Staunton, I was amazed to find that it was in fact written by Rita Rudner who plays the American starlet. It'd be fascinating to know her motivation.

  • the cambridge footlights revue is an awesome choice of cast

  • "Now do the coffee jingle" LOL. THere's always one person who puts a dampner on every party!

  • Imelda's thin voice and 'rehearsing' presentation was just right for the films theme of nostalgia and poignant 'teetering on the brink of despair.'

  • this song is just beautifull! i think i've watched this lie hundred times.

Whenever i watch the film and this scene ends i keep pushing rewind until i hear the begining again. simply priceless.

  • So do I... I just love it :-)

  • This song was sung beautifully by the cast. I love it.

  • I love this scene, this cast performs this song so well. The Underground scene is hilarious too.

  • in that opening line of the song imelda staunaton sings the most perfect, purest note i have ever heard. absolutely beautiful. if the movie ended after that song i could not complain i didn't get to see or hear the best part

  • I hadn't noticed the note before, It's breathtaking.

  • I'm so happy to have found this video,I loved the film and ordered the soundtrack cd and it isn't included. These are all great actors and 2 of them are great singers.

  • ...Did anyone else notice that Hugh is almost as tall as Imelda sitting down?

  • I like how Stephen Fry wraps the end of the song up like a present with a bow...

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

  • This is amazing, since wathcing the film this song has been in my head constantly! I can't believe this version isn't included on the soundtrack.

  • This is good.....I'm so glad I ordered the movie....^.^

  • I did, too! I'm so excited!!

  • *Sobbing*

    I can't hire 'Peter's Friends' anywhere :(

I really would like to see this movie.

  • The movie dosent come out till next month, just to let you know. I pre-ordered it online.

  • this is precisely why i looked up this movie on youtube. best scene in the whole film. thank you so much for this. PLEASE DON'T DELETE IT!! love their version of this song.

  • My God that girl can sing! Not at all the voice you'd expect her to have when you hear her talk. Great moment in a great film.

    ("Now do the coffee jingle!")

  • I want to learn how to play the lip trumpet!

  • do u no how he does that. i really want to no

  • Brilliant. This is my all time favourite movie.

  • i love this - they're all so sweet together, especially hugh the trumpet :)

  • Yes, Imelda Staunton has a stunning voice. "The Way You Look Tonight" is one of my favourite songs, and I would definitely say this is my ultimate favourite version. Awesome film too!

  • Thanks so much for posting this! After seeing the film, shortly after its release, I rushed out to get the soundtrack CD - and boy, was I feeling burned this song wasn't included in the compilation. For a film about some loopy people, this was a great moment...

  • Hugh the trumpet!

  • One of my favourite moments from the film. Imelda Staunton has such a lovely voice!

  • Wonderful film, wonderful song. Just wonderful.
