  • I love trains ! So i will enjoy this video !

  • @Ady8003 thx for ur comment. hope you have enjoyed this.

  • It's weird that series 500 doesn't accelerate faster since it's the most powerful shinkansen.

which one does come to 300km/h first?

  • @AF401 thx for your question. it's a matter of gear ratio. 500 series is designed for higher speed than 250km/h~. Even though both 500 and N700 can go up to 300km/h, acceleration of N700 at lower speed (~250km/h) exeeds that of 500. At higher speed (250km/h~), 500 series accelerates better than N700. thus, time needed for acceleration to 300km/h is almost the same for 500 and N700.

  • @wildcop yeah, you're right! gear ratios makes sense. Thank you for your answer.

I've forgot that series 500 can reach speeds above 350 km/h if I'm right. and N700 up to 330km/h if both tested to max design speed.

    Thanks ^_^

  • Nice work!

All these trains are 400 m long?

You need special authorization to take these videos in the station?

    Thanks for sharing

  • The great thing about railfanning in Japan is the incredible variety and the fact that nobody gives you any grief providing you do not set up a tripod on a busy platform. Between Tokyo and Shin Osaka all of the 'bullets' are 16 cars. From Shin Osaka to Fukuoka ( Hakata station ) there is a mix of 8 and 16 car trains. Going north out of Tokyo they come in 6, 8 and 10 car sets with a maximum of 16 cars when combined to run together. My vids show most of them.

  • Thanks a lot ROCKETBOY1950 for your reply!

  • like Rocketboy said, they are all in 16-car configurations, about 400m long. To be exact, there are 2-3m differences in length according to the nose designs, which is of course included in the s.q.m caliculation. You don't need any authorization to film trains in stations in Japan. JR-central (between tokyo and osaka) officially announces prohibition of tripod use on the platforms, but this restriction seems not too strict.

  • Thank you WILDCOP
