The best Bleach character in my opinion, Ichimaru Gin. Hate the fact that he's supposed to have died since weaker characters striken down by Aizen have survived. I hope its another one of his schemes.:) And the fact he carried an age long plot to avenge his beloved Rangiku is just touching awesomeness.

Toshiro actually does have a technique that can kill anyone that is in range of it, he uses it against Halibel and explains it further during the fight. Anyone weak enough would die.

@HeWhoBitesFirst All the Zanpak's are katana's in their original form. When he transforms it it turns into a wakizashi. Gin is one of the best captains he probably uses it in both forms depending on situation.

What people really don't remember is that Tousen was a prodigy as well. In the Turn Back the Pendulum arc, it shows him using his Bankai as only a 5th seat to defeat Kensei and his squad. People don't give him much credit. I think Aizen, Gin and Tousen have the coolest shikais, I'm referring to Tousens ability to wave his zanpakuto, and create a stream of razor sharp blades that fly at the enemy.

If he was playing with him and in control, he wouldn't have gotten his arm frozen. He was placed in a corner and he realized his only way out of the mess was to resort to his shikai. Hitsugaya dodged it, so instead of pulling it back, Gin found that he could use Momo as a weakness.
A bit cowardly in my opinion, not to mention Hitsugaya could've easily stabbed Gin at 6:09 while his Shinso was going for Momo he left himself open.
He didn't "choose between his life and Hinamori's", where did that even come from? Gin saw he dodged his "surprise attack" and followed through by trying to attack her in order to get himself out of a tough situation (he probably knew Hitsugaya would've attacked him immediately after dodging, so he used Momo to distract Hitsugaya). If Hitsugaya knew Matsumoto were coming, I doubt he'd let his guard down for Momoi that much and probably would've injured or killed Gin while his sword was extended.

The "sealed" form you speak about is not cannon, but if you want to get into that, then he was doing very well, dodging and following through whenever Gin tried to attack. You speak about him "only giving Gin a haircut and a frozen arm," what did Gin do that can seriously be acknowledged for being in control during that entire fight besides keep his cool, act like he knew what he was doing and try and kill an unconscious girl and failed in the process?
If anything, Hitsugaya had that battle, straight up. Hiding your sword in your haori is really nothing special, why would you even bring that up and call it "strategy"?

The cutting the sleeve scene and whatnot is not cannon. Read the manga if you are going to argue with me about this battle. It went from Hitsugaya going into shikai to him swiftly freezing Gin's arm. He could have followed through and landed a fatal attack on Gin had he known Matsumoto would save Momo from Gin's Shinso. I love how you're seriously placing Hitsugaya on a lower pedestal as you completely disregard the fundamentals.
Yammy, the espada with the strongest hierro, was able to break out of Hitsugaya's SHIKAI. I really don't know what you're trying to prove here. Him freezing Gin's arm wasn't even intended to kill Gin, do you even know what you are talking about? Obviously he intended to follow through and attack Gin at close quarters after he rendered his arm useless.

And it's not that I'm trying to "give him credit", it's just some people refuse to acknowledge the important aspects in some, if not all, of his battles which leads to negative perceptions on further battles. (e.g. Halibel.) As for the hierro thing, we're both wrong. Nnoitra had the strongest hierro. The point I was trying to make was Yammy's hierro granted him defense against the shikai's ice to some extent, so it's not really all that surprising he's able to withstand it.
Yeah these fastest sonido thing was self proclaimed and IMO starrk was faster.I still like to think that ulquiorra had best hierro but it's just my opinion.!

Where was he "blasting out ice dragons"? As far as I'm concerned in terms of the cannon manga, he only did that once (the first time he used it in the anime) before freezing Gin's arm instantaneously. How do you know Hitsugaya wouldn't have turned around and stabbed, used kido or done some other elaborate strategy to misdirect Gin's Shinso to keep Momo out of harm's way? If you're going to get into "what-if" speculations, then expect other speculative possibilities as well.

@HeWhoBitesFirst All the Zanpak's are katana's in their original form. When he transforms it it turns into a wakizashi. Gin is one of the best captains he probably uses it in both forms depending on situation.

@TobiMItzuni His Bankai is pretty much an extension of his shikai. He has the ability to shoot his sword up to 13 km at 500 times the speed of sound.

Ichigo dodge every attack! I know hes the Mainchar but this is ridicoulus. Everything Gin shouldhas to do is amining on Ichis Chest an kill him with a single attack, Ichigo wouldn't have time to react.. But that is't the case and so yeah it would be powerful, if he wouldn't fight Ichigo.. because we all know, Ichi cant loose

@Badhunter773 true ichi is dodging all his atacks, but you also have to notice that gin is actually just playing with ichigo. also the fact that ichi, if I remember correct,
he cant hit gin because he is afraid aswell.
And also yeah the main char will not die... tough gin will be able to own
ichi. Also to keep in mind that gin has probably an holification as well because Tosen has one aswell... hmmm we will have to wait till the "final battle"

What people really don't remember is that Tousen was a prodigy as well. In the Turn Back the Pendulum arc, it shows him using his Bankai as only a 5th seat to defeat Kensei and his squad. People don't give him much credit. I think Aizen, Gin and Tousen have the coolest shikais, I'm referring to Tousens ability to wave his zanpakuto, and create a stream of razor sharp blades that fly at the enemy.

... and if you notice, Gin easily stops Hyourinmaru's Ice Dragon attack. The chain sneak attack is what caught Gin's arm. Not the Dragon. I mean, later on, Hitsugaya gets trashed by Arrancar's whom are not even Espada.

If he was playing with him and in control, he wouldn't have gotten his arm frozen. He was placed in a corner and he realized his only way out of the mess was to resort to his shikai. Hitsugaya dodged it, so instead of pulling it back, Gin found that he could use Momo as a weakness.
A bit cowardly in my opinion, not to mention Hitsugaya could've easily stabbed Gin at 6:09 while his Shinso was going for Momo he left himself open.

Sooo, it was all coincidence that Toshiro had to choose his life or Hinamori's while Gin almost put no effort in.
Still that the fact that he was really serious and that was all he could do combined with his popularity, makes my head asplode.

He didn't "choose between his life and Hinamori's", where did that even come from? Gin saw he dodged his "surprise attack" and followed through by trying to attack her in order to get himself out of a tough situation (he probably knew Hitsugaya would've attacked him immediately after dodging, so he used Momo to distract Hitsugaya). If Hitsugaya knew Matsumoto were coming, I doubt he'd let his guard down for Momoi that much and probably would've injured or killed Gin while his sword was extended.

He pretty much did, except Toshiro didn't know she was there.
Seriously, throughout the whole fight Toshiro went all out in his Sealed and Shikai form and Gin just got a haircut and a cool arm.
He only was suprised once when his arm was frozen and even then he used a good strategy, imo by hiding his attack with his Haori.
He said are you sure you want to dodge that because Hinamori was there which shows that he knew where she was and aimed for her.

The "sealed" form you speak about is not cannon, but if you want to get into that, then he was doing very well, dodging and following through whenever Gin tried to attack. You speak about him "only giving Gin a haircut and a frozen arm," what did Gin do that can seriously be acknowledged for being in control during that entire fight besides keep his cool, act like he knew what he was doing and try and kill an unconscious girl and failed in the process?

Exactly he din't really have to do anything, apart from watch Hitsugaya flail about wildly.
I know sealed is not Canon its simply easier to say that then the sword form before Shikai.
To me and plenty other people, its extremely obvious Gin was holding back a ton, imo.

If anything, Hitsugaya had that battle, straight up. Hiding your sword in your haori is really nothing special, why would you even bring that up and call it "strategy"?

The cutting the sleeve scene and whatnot is not cannon. Read the manga if you are going to argue with me about this battle. It went from Hitsugaya going into shikai to him swiftly freezing Gin's arm. He could have followed through and landed a fatal attack on Gin had he known Matsumoto would save Momo from Gin's Shinso. I love how you're seriously placing Hitsugaya on a lower pedestal as you completely disregard the fundamentals.

Yammy, the espada with the strongest hierro, was able to break out of Hitsugaya's SHIKAI. I really don't know what you're trying to prove here. Him freezing Gin's arm wasn't even intended to kill Gin, do you even know what you are talking about? Obviously he intended to follow through and attack Gin at close quarters after he rendered his arm useless.

Read chapter 132. And it's not that I'm trying to "give him credit", it's just some people refuse to acknowledge the important aspects in some, if not all, of his battles which leads to negative perceptions on further battles. (e.g. Halibel.) As for the hierro thing, we're both wrong. Nnoitra had the strongest hierro. The point I was trying to make was Yammy's hierro granted him defense against the shikai's ice to some extent, so it's not really all that surprising he's able to withstand it.

Not really. Gin has been shown to curve or swing Shinsou in any manner or form he wishes to. He could have easily curved it back.

He was getting up to Bankai. The battle was interrupted by Matsumoto, obviously. If Gin had killed Momo, you know as well as I do, Hitsugaya would have gone all out with his Bankai. He was blasting out Ice Dragons as if there was no end to his "rage." ^___^

Where was he "blasting out ice dragons"? As far as I'm concerned in terms of the cannon manga, he only did that once (the first time he used it in the anime) before freezing Gin's arm instantaneously. How do you know Hitsugaya wouldn't have turned around and stabbed, used kido or done some other elaborate strategy to misdirect Gin's Shinso to keep Momo out of harm's way? If you're going to get into "what-if" speculations, then expect other speculative possibilities as well.

When i said the aura thing.I was trying to point out how serious he was in the fight and Gin was not until he got his arm frozen.But i'm sure even if i didn't read te manga at that time(started with the arrancar arc for manga)that the double target was not all luck.=)

I don't care about the "aura thing", that never happened in the manga, so it's like it never happened. Now do you see what I'm talking about? The fact that it went from Hitsugaya going into shikai and then him immediately freezing Gin's arm (without him noticing it, I might add) clearly demonstrates how Hitsugaya had the upper-hand in this battle, regardless how serious or not Gin was.
