If I was just a little younger and had started dressage sooner I would SO have done dressage on a pony!!!!! Im only 5'4" so I probably could have done it on a large.....oh well lol
@Equestrian191 I think you should do it anyway, its ridiculous that it should be only for kids, most adults fit perfectly on a large pony (I"m 5'4 to) and they are getting sooooo good. If they were alloud to compete with the larger horses they would be beating them.
@movinon5 The only problem is I cannot afford my own horse so I ride whatever horses my trainer has available (it has its positives too though). But if I ever do get the chance to ride a pony in dressage, I will probably go for it! Oh yea ponies are awesome. I used to ride hunter/jumper so I got my fair share of lesson ponies. And Ive got a friend thats now a young amateaur who is only 5'1" and she owns a 17.2h Trakehner. I know she loves him but I think she needs a pony!! lol.
lol, the pony courtney king got on is at my barn. his names harry and he's quite amazing. the girl who owns him, mckenzie, who was riding him before courtney hopped on was only 14 when this was made
Man im only 14 and i dream of riding this good.. im selling 2 of my 3 horses so i could get a good horse to start doing many competitions.. hopefully i will get to this level of riding soon.. before college and stuff xD
How about instead of buying a horse that automatically takes you to victories no matter your faults, you´d first take more lessons and get better yourself? Im 24 and desperatelly want to buy a new horse when the right time comes, but I want to buy a horse with whom to learn more, in other words take classes. Then afterwards its wonderfull to see the development not only in your horse but your own riding :) see my point?
yes.. i didnt mean by getting an already Grand Prix trained horse.. but a horse like you described :) Right now one of my horses Trenton is drafty and is very heavy in the hands and needs more training then what i could give. Remi has some physical problems that wont allow me to go much forward in competitions... I just need more of an Athletic horse to help learn on and to help me get into the showing circuit. :) Thanks so much for commenting to help me :D
your reply to my comment doesnt show here, weard, but still- you´re welcome :) I hope you´ll find a suitable horse with whom to work and learn with many years ;)
I hope my pony and I get this good :)
