@rdsnuke Oh and Lennox either sues for his belts or takes belts from fighters rather than being patient and fighting them. (i.e., Bowe, Tyson) He finally got his chance at Tyson and yes won, even though Tyson wasn't the same man he used to be. I only wish it had been about 10 years prior. Woudla been KO by Tyson.

@rdsnuke In response to Tyson being past his prime, I was referring to the 2002 fight against Lennox. If he got the fight IN his prime in the mid to late 80's or before he went to jail and lost his head, Tyson would have laid him out....way too powerful and quick of a puncher for Lennox..as even the GREAT Ali said. As far as Bowe goes, him being the Champ would have gotten a WAY weaker paycheck than the challenger Lennox. That's a slap in the face and I don't blame Bowe for not taking the fight

@Dar41683, Tyson lost to Douglas when he was 23 years old. That's when it was all over. If you want to mention Ali. Then why not mention George Foreman who said Lewis was the greatest boxer of all time, let alone his era. We can all quote people. Lewis had a career from his 20s to 38 years of age. Whereas Tyson ruled for just 3 years, went to prison, came back and started biting holyfields ears because he was losing. Tyson was not passed it at 23, he was found out.

@rdsnuke Tyson lost his desire to fight I think before he even went to prison you see he didn't train vigorously he just wanted money he wasted away his talent. If tyson trains i dont' see any of those boxers beating him. He went 8 rounds with Lennox and he was clearly out of shape and out of form. Ali is the greatest of all time period 2 legit losses vs Norton and Joe. The caliber of boxers was way better then the era or Lennox

It all comes down to politics, everything behind closed doors and off the camera. Of course Lennox and people like you will twist the story to say, oh these guys are cowards and didn't want to fight him. Bowe would have fought him, and Mike put him off for a supposed better, lucrative fight.

I've heard a lot of people claim Lewis was ducked by Tyson in 1996.Citing the $4 mill step-aside fee Lewis was paid to allow Tyson to go ahead with a planned match with Seldon instead of defendin his WBC title against Lewis.What is less discussed is that Lewis turned down 13.5 mill guarantee offer to fight Tyson before accepting the $4 million.This was before Lewis faced Ray Mercer. The Mercer fight did not improve Lewis value or perceived chances against Tyson at that time one iota.
