These drones might be able to show great dexterity, flexibility and manoeuvrability, but how about sensing-action? Adapting? Intelligence? I believe there is none in there, just a clever exercise of actuator engineering (mechatronics).

well, if you pay attention, you can see that first the robot touched the basket, then it dropped the toy apple. it's just like if you do it with your eyes closed, how would you know that you reached the basket and can let go of the apple? by simply touching it. the robot is blind, it cant see but it has "touching sensors" =)
We are not so long from terminator style robots. They wont talk like arnie, nor will they have flesh at first, but they will be similar. kinda. We could give a robot a gun now and tell it to kill. It would. It would find the wrong person most likely. it would aim perfect. Then it would kill the wrong person and go home. Facial recognition is tough and from varying distances and angles with lighting changes it can be quite tricky.
well actaully. im watching future weapons on the discovery channel right now. Im reminded of the robots we have now that are armed with rifles/machine guns/sub machine guns and can fire with dead accuracy and i think America is testing motion detecting robots that are used it permiter defense.
Also, In terminator 3 i believe the robots that go rampid in hte office are probably similiar to the first one we create.
