  • I think this is a great comparison. I wish the money followed the student and not the district or local teachers union. We have a son enrolled in the Autism Scholarship in our state. The school district bent over backwards to get him enrolled when he was obviously too young.

  • They know we have this and treated us like he had a price tag on his head. Which begs to question, do they want to educate him or just want the money? We wish we could use the same dollars and enroll him in a private school, but the state teachers association made sure that door was closed and keep it that way."

  • Awful comparison!!!! Schools are so different to supermarkets!!! This video is really deceiving, school choice increases student segregation by socioeconomic status and reduces the social cohesion of a society...

  • liberals fight for lower income people, except on school choice and you know everything relating to economics

  • In other news, in low income districts, all schools has to close due to ZERO funding, crime rate quadruple for everyone!

  • @Sonicalex0 but back to our current story, kids in low income districts continue to get bad educations, the drop out rate is high, and so is crime. Property taxes have also gone up do to unions asking for jet packs, gold cars, and still not paying for any benefits.

  • I am FOR school choice, but here's the problem: Just like the food shoppers, parents don't all want the same thing. Bob wants his kids to score high on the ACT/SAT and to get into a good college; Jack wants his kids to play sports and to ALWAYS be eligible to play in Friday's game; Fred wants his kids to never have any homework so he doesn't have to keep up with it; Suzie just wants to see nice letters on that report card. These choice schools will deliver those products.

  • httm and robertmike are just the most recent examples of leftist "logic".

httm: I can't argue against the philosophical points being discussed, so I will employ a logical fallacy. KOCH!!!!!

robertmike: If people are allowed to choose they might make mistakes, so we must remove their ability to choose on "important" things. Aka, I am an authoritarian douche. I do wonder who decides what is "important" in his world, and if there is any limits to that slippery slope.

  • down with koch

  • Problem with you Koch whore morons is you can't see the obvious flaws with this crap. Charter school choices are nearly all shit. If you fuck up buying a bad steak, you toss it, but fucking up your kids education causes far more damage. ITS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT and Heritage is lying at 3:25.

  • @robertmike57 This is simply letting folks have choices. "Liberty". The reality is that the US has the best Universities in the world, but we lag far behind in K-12 results. Look up the results of our public high school graduates, compared to Hong, Kong, Singapore, etc. Funny thing is, at 4th grade, we are on par, but at high school we are far behind. BTW, contemplate the ratio of private vs public in K-12, and in our Universities. Govt-union monopoly much more evident in K-12.

  • @luvcheney1 Most charter schools are run by profiteering bullshitters. Some choice.

  • @robertmike57 Fine! If you are right, and they suck, what is the risk? Nobody will become a client from a school with a bad reputation. Vouchers allow choices, and people will gravitate to better schools. The bad schools will go into decline. You know, like Studebaker, Packard, Enron, Lehman, GM, Chrysler. No worries, the market slits the throats of the bullshit businesses.

  • @robertmike57 i agree lets support those great hard working men and women of Michigan and Wisconsin and other states to.

  • Should I even wonder what the profession is of the 1 person that disliked this video? Maybe um ... union school teacher?

  • The message of this video is so obvious. I'm utterly baffled as to why anyone other than union teachers would be against school choice. But there's plenty of them.

  • districtville is liberalville

  • Changed test scores = more fed money =more school taxes=Atalanta Ga.

  • Fed. Dept. of Ed. is UNConstitutional.

Teacher Unions do Not result in high standards.
