I once met Christopher Lee and had the chance to listen to him speak in an interview forum. He was simply fabulous and so imposing with his height and deep resonant voice.
its a little more poetic than that, Dracula isnt a shark that kills eats and sleeps theres more depth to him a lot more actually, hes more sophisticated than an animal that just kills(though yes he is a monster a sophisticated monster)
@shadow6543 Agreed, Dracula is a sophisticated monster. Sure, there were erotic elements with Lee's Dracula, but, overall, seeking and destroying human life while remaining as silent as possible were his strongest attributes. The phrase, "silent as the grave," fits Lee's Dracula perfectly. Lee's Dracula was the most "human" but also the most cruel. Lee is a learned man who knows history. I believe that Lee wanted to draw from the real-life Vlad the Impaler (who was very cruel as we all know).
Great tribute to Hammer Horror! Love the music - so much better than the dickless shit out today - kind of like Hammer Horror- so much better than the dickless horror out today!
Does anyone remember the name of a (british) horror movie where a young couple is moving abroad and as they pack up their flat they keep getting flashbacks of an old couple, the man mistreating the woman? the empty flat is also suddenly filled with old furniture and their last night turns into nightmare as they keep seeing the old lady being murdered and they find her in the freezer. just before they leave, they are introduced to the new tenants, which are- the old couple! Please help!
Some answers: I'm 18. Favorite is The Gorgon (1964). I love the colors and the gothic atmosphere. Hidden horror is much stronger than seen, though I do love some of the gore of the 70s & 80s, but only in minimal intake. 60s I prefer of the Hammer, because they seemed more driven to give good performances.
Well, favorite of this 38 years old is Brides of Dracula, but I love many films and all decades of Hammer. Why? Because of richly romantic colours, Gothic sets, classic monsters, Gothic heroines, and sense of adventure instead of excessive gore and other filth. I definitely prefer period settings,
I think they made many good sequels, but then... oh dear, audience wanted to see the aforementioned gore and other filth instead of aforementioned class and craftsmanship..
Brilliantly done. The music unexpectedly matches the fine editing job. I remember going to the drive-in in Texas in the 70's and watching many of the movies that were shown. I was just a little kid, almost too young for such violent adult themes that were in the films. I love Hammer horror. God bless them! :D
Great video/music combination! Who is the musical group? Nightshift? (I can't seem to find a group called Nightshift that plays this particular song.) Or is this another band?
Vampires are always excellent, but I think Christopher Lee is one of the best draculas ever!! What a passion he has when he acts... Priceless... I liked the video very much,I can't tell the same for the music but never mind! :)
Hammer's Draculas were brilliant. My favourites are Prince of Darkness, Has Risen from the Grave and Taste the Blood of... Great fairytale horror. I also don't dislike the ones set in the 70s, but Scars was the nadir.
I LOVE Hammer horrors. There used to be a Hammer film on every friday night at 1:00am on Channel 4. I always looked foward to watching them. This is a wonderful tribute. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing are the best.
I've seen so many Dracula films that I've stop counting them, but from all of them Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, to this day, are the best Van Helsing and Count Dracula ever.
Thanks for all your kind comments! The video was cut with Adobe Premiere Pro and the intro produced using Adobe Photoshop/After Effects. Hope this helps!
This song is awesome! There needs to be a mp3 for me to download illegally!

I liked Lee because he was so bloody cruel (like Vlad the Impaler). Lee's the Eastwood of vampires -- he hardly says a word -- he just kills.

You say it's a tribute to Hammer Horror but I see only vampire films...where are Frankenstein, the Mummy, Curse of the Werewolf and all the rest?
Mality 6 months ago
Why does everyone insist on putting shitty metal music over great film clips like these. Hammer deserves more respect than this.

These guys suck like Kiss.
They play bubble-gum and power pop, but crank the amps to convince the unenlightened that they're hearing quality metal.

These Hammer movies are so much better than today's rubbish.
I think I'll hurl if I see another TV ad for one of these new mega-movies with their horrible
computerized "special effects". They look more like video games than movies.

Do you prefer continental period settings to contemporary ones?
Which decade of Hammer Horror films do you prefer? And why?
Do you think the Hammer Horror sequels were good?
Do you enjoy watching Hammer sequels or new idea?
Do you think Hammer Horror films portrayed the monster differently to other horror films?
What in your opinion caused the downfall of the Hammer Horrors?

Villesanti 2 years ago
If you don't "get it" then that's too bad... but I think it's fantastically crafted to the music (which is brilliant).
Groover26 2 years ago
Is just my opinion, but it takes away the true essence of Hammer. The music should have been more classical. Anyway, great movies.

But Hammer was much more than only the Dracula series...
My favorite is the Frankenstein series and Quatermass too...
