She does sound a little off. Not terrible at all just not perfect. Perhaps its the dangers of a female singer singing a song intended for a male singer, especially with Black Francis's quite distinct voice.

Found this quite by accident--and love it. The slight uptempo is refreshing, but also the female vocalist able sing her own backup tracks, makes for a cool layering effect. Reminds me a little of Tanya Donelly circa '92, and good rock & roll calls for lots of covers. 00:45 - 00:50 was particularly intense, and a nice retort to some of the more negative "pixier than thou" comments below.

honestly its good except for her terrible singing... absolutely terrible no talent whatsoever singing. I DO like the background playing.. would have been better suited as an instrumental.

I dont know who would pay to hear her sing but Id pay to hear her NOT sing.

Longtime Pixies listener here. One of their best tunes, this. Seems an unnecessary version; Nothing added, basically a karaoke performance...with about 73% conviction...and slightly offkey vocals all the way thru. uhhhh...next!

The Vintage&Used have been Pixies fans since we formed-all of the V&U members were Pixies fans, the 2 "old" guys in the band are Pixies fans since the 80's.

It's okay to say you don't like it, it's not okay to say it's shit.

+ Alec Eifel is my favorite Pixies song & in my personal top 3 favorite songs of all times.

I don't say this cover couldn't be better, but I do say it's good & I like it.

I don't have this CD but I looked at the song listing for Pixies Fuckin' Die on Amazon and on the An April March myspace page they say they did this cover.

(I love both of them-- I have a few CDs from each.)

It's AN April March. They were on my label, Bedazzled. This was released on a Pixies tribute CD. Can't remember the label off the top of my head, but it was a pretty good set of covers. I think the tribute was called Pixies F***ing Die.
