For the NUKE fans out there I am as well. I have to say though that I have watched OLTL since I was kid in 80s and 90s. In the early 90s OLTL had one gay character and story-line that lead to the AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT. I believe OLTL will not stop with two gay characters, they will create a story-line and build a gay and lesbian community. Just like they did when they created a latino community in Angel Square. Which was created over 12 years ago and is still thriving and active to this day.

I have to say that OLTL is one of the best soap operas out there in terms of acting, writing, and directing. OLTL was based on social class and change between the Lords, Woleks, and Seigels. I appreciate the diversity of this show with characters of all ages, races, use of recurring (non-contract) characters, and now a full storyline of homosexuality. It's been nearly 20 years since they had a gay storyline! Go OLTL for creating the Oliver/Kyle storyline!

These guys are smoking! Scott Evans is like an overgrown teddy bear and Brett Claywell is so dark and intense; this pair is definitely showing more life than Nuke (whom I still love). I love how Fish responded to the kiss. He definitely was feeling it more than he did with Layla.

I guess this kiss was worth the wait, i was happy to finally see kyle and fish finally get close. Scott evans (fish) is openly gay, but it looked like Brett claywell (kyle) was more into the kiss than fish.

I said that I was going to be so fucking angry if I saw Fish/Kyle kiss before I got to see Olivia and Natalia (Guiding Light) kiss. Let my anger commence.

This has nothing to do with Fish or Kyle. It's the fact that we get to see physical intimate contact with the gay male daytime storylines but we get NOTHING with the one daytime lesbian storyline.  It pisses me off to no end.

I think that's more indicative of the culture of conservatism at CBS than anything else.

Normally, lesbian pairings are deemed less controversial because they're less threatening to straight men, who are the ones who generally run these media conglomerates.

It's a shame the Otalia fans were done such a disservice but it is nice to see a gay male storyline on a soap get this kind of graceful and eloquent treatment. It says good things about the producers and writers at OLTL.

I think it might actually be Guiding Light itself because there's a gay storyline on ATWT which has much more physical contact then Otalia ever will. I think it is strange though because, as you said, lesbian pairings are usually less "controversial" then gay male pairings.

I totally agree about this storyline being treated so well and how much it says about OLTL. My paranoia is that the Otalia SL started out so wonderful and then just crashed.

One thing I forgot in my first comment is how honest Oliver's actions and reactions are. His denials and that great moment at the end where he talks about how he'd lose everything (trailing off when he says everything). Kyle forcing the issue with him too is just played so honestly. These are two great actors who spark off each other and today's scenes proved it.

Is anyone else getting sick of Christian's spying on Fish and grilling Kyle? He's making it sound like they owe him the truth and he has no right to it. Even before he though Fish was gay he just couldn't keep his nose out of private business. I can't stand the way he is going to listen in on what Kish is discussing in the alley. Didn't he just hear Roxy say it was a "private conversation"? He's really not endearing himself to me or convincing me that he and Layla would make a good pair.

Come on now, Christian isn't the bad guy here. He was butting in at first because he was jealous of the attention Fish was paying to Layla, and vice versa. It wasn't until Kyle let on that Fish was hiding something that Chris became suspicious. And let's be real, if you knew your friend was dating someone who was being less than truthful, wouldn't you get a little nosy yourself?

Your probably right, it's just my personal feelings/issues regarding Chris. Maybe I'd feel different if I saw the start of Chris/Layla. I guess what been bugs me is that once Chris became suspicious (through no fault of his own), it seemed that he went way out of his way to find out more, instead of consulting Layla with what Kyle told him and letting her handle the situation. And he's going to continue to pry. Jealous or not, that kind of behaviour just rubs me the wrong way. Always has.
