  • @ptsoldier If there's no legal stipulations on keeping them yes, they make good pets. Feeding them crickets and worms works well.

  • i just found one and im keeping him hehehe!

  • y let them be free

  • that is the spotted newt

  • the length, the colours and where you find them

  • no this is not a newt, it is a salamander, a Fire Salamander to be exact. Its scientific name is Salamandra salamandra. Its not a Spotted Salamander because the spots are not orderly and there are too many. And no the difference between newts and salamanders is more historic than scientific. Newts are a subgroup of salamanders. All newts are salamanders, but not all salamanders are newts.

I hope this person didn't have chlorinated pool water or any chemicals in it for that matter.

  • @BradySean512 although ur right about most of tht stuff i think it is not a fire salamander but a type of newt mainley because fire salamanders originate from europe and the only ones in the states are in the pet trade

  • this is a newt

  • I've never seen a salamander ever in person. You guys are lucky.

  • COOL I WISH I COULD CACH A SALAMANDER

  • spotted salamanders have large yellow spots.

  • Your all idiots its a newt!

  • All newts are salamanders.

  • no their not they are completly diffent

  • Newts are in the sub-family Pleurodelinae (I think that's the right spelling :P). That is part of the family Salamandridae. Salamandridae is a family of salamanders. Also, they aren't really that different from others salamanders.
