  • Oh kinda gutted, heard they wwere american but the proofs in the pudding!

  • amazing

  • Growing older sucks...

  • I can`t believe how many people didn`t know they are actors and Spinal Tap was just a band that put out music but it was meant as a joke. I also can`t believe how many don`t reconize the guy in the middle. He was on Lavern and Shirley,

He and the other guy played Lenny and Squiggy on that show.

  • @DoubleVisionandco Guitar magazines all play along with the gag that Tap is real, it's an unwritten rule. I think that helps.

  • @DoubleVisionandco You're thinking of David Lander with Michael McKean. Harry Shearer never played Squiggy.

  • the only americans who can do an english accent

  • This interviewer looks like the principal in the Breakfast Club

  • Cat in the green almost looks like an old Keith Moon.

  • Woah dude. I swear, i thought they were a real band.

  • ooommmgg ..... i never know that Michael McKean was a member of spinal tap ... that old dude from those movie that he almost always play the bad guy ... now i will learn to love is acting hahahaha

  • OMG..I thought they were british.

  • @sysrq120 - So did I and I am British ( I only caught the 2nd half of ' This is Spinal Tap,)

From 1963 to 2007 I drummed & partied with many Brit rock bands but none were as funny or had the insight of these guys...............................................Drink only from the TAP of Life and all will become clear!

  • @sysrq120 Guest is British. In fact he (seriously) is the Rt. Hon. The 5th Baron Haden-Guest of Saling in the County of Essex, but he's spent a lot of time in the U.S., even being born in NY. His father was a diplomat.

  • and they're STILL sexy!

  • Big Bottom drives me out my mind...

  • Has Chris Guest EVER laughed out loud or smiled a big grin when he was out of character? He only seems to have some semblance of a personality when he is acting. Aye aye aye!

  • @chinacat That is so true, actually. I was so blown away by THIS IS SPINAL TAP for so many reasons, one of them being that I had no idea (till the end credits) that Christopher Guest was Nigel Tufnel. I was like, Um is this the SAME Christopher Guest who used to do the news on SNL (1984-85) so expressionless and so unfunny? o.0

  • Kent Brockman should of done this interview

  • @517634 lol, awesome

  • oh, so you are Rick Wakeman's friend Squiggy, aren't you!

  • Harry, Michael and Chris,

We all know who you are. We follow your carriers, and without a doubt - all three of you are brilliant!

Butt, the Spinal Tap characters you created are immortal! Please, please, please, continue on being Derek, David and Nigel! With wigs’, cucumbers’, and turn it up to 11’s! (20, or infinity volume with a gassy fat man in a speaker is not quite proper :).

    11/11/11 – Nigel forever!

    Long live the Spinal Tap!

  • YOU HAVE RUINED MY CHILDHOOD

  • These guys are really good at faking American accents... They actually had me convinced for a bit there.

  • These guys are as funny as Chris Tucker (with intelligent humor)....and they rock as hard as AC/DC. I like comedy. I like rock n roll

  • CAN'T UNSEE

  • WHOE!!!!!!!!! they aren't british!!

  • Three bona fide, real time comedy geniuses. Sheer comedy genius deluxe.

  • me watching this video is like a kid finding out santa isn't real.

  • @FeedbackStL well you're a fucking disappointment.

  • BEST BRITISH ACCENTS EVER

  • @tvtalent What about the British who haver British accents?

  • nigel number one....

  • i wish they were real nigel rules

  • 66,666th view! Hail Satan and Spinal Tap!

  • @LeSexisme satan is and only is 666. youre a few thousand off there.

  • holy shit is that what they did with kurt loder lol well i guess we all have to go small time again eventually

  • IT'S HANDSOME DAN!!!!!!

  • @Z0S07657 "uh huh... uh huh... he he work is hard!"

  • WTF they aren't even English!

  • wtf, they're not english?! mind blown...

  • Christopher Guest( Nigel Tufnel) is also Mr Jamie Lee Curtis and an American citizen. But he is also the Baron Haden-Guest and is a British aristocrat with British citizenship. He took his seat in the House of lords with the Ermine robes and coronet.

  • I didn't know Harry was such a Hulk fan!

  • i also didnt recognize nigel or david just derek "aluminum dick" smalls

  • =OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • holy shit i didn't even recognise nigel....

  • how come they have american accents here and english in the film then?

  • @jimpurdie They put on english accents.

  • @jimpurdie really? wow.

  • @jimpurdie You've never heard of actors doing accents?(rolls eyes)

  • jeez i always thought they were brits! bit of a let-down, but theyr still awsome though..

  • @gerby90 HAHHAHHAAHA you douche!!

    wait...

  • Ironically, Americans speak better English than most people in Britain these days, everyone here (Britain) sound like they are on drugs.

  • so theyre american actors ?

  • @jimpurdie Yes.

  • Omg, I thought these guys were for real until now.

  • @Vebable Omg ur a fuckin tard

  • @TheReilly8 Aw, not a tard, TheReilly, just very young, I'd wager. My kids are twelve and thirteen, and they've heard me talk about the rock 'n' roll days of the 60s and 70s all their lives, so when they saw this movie a couple weeks ago....well, they thought at first that Spinal Tap was a real band, and the film was a documentary. My sister and I had to explain it all to them. Now they get it, thank goodness. Betcha Vebable is just a kid, that's all.

  • @endora60 oh right sorry, tell me did they laugh at any of the film? my dad knows lots of people who first thought it was real and didnt get it

  • if the joker and the riddler had a child....

  • who gave them haircuts? they looks very smart now

  • I have read many comments here. anyway This Is Spinal Tap the movie was and always will be a fav of mine. Double neck bass...All with cold sores from groupies. Cucumber at the airport. These guys are brilliant comedians....Does anyone remember Lenny from Laverne and Shirley Take a peek Shlameel Shlamazel Hossenfeffa ???? Incorporated

  • let them never appear in public like this again! we love u spinal tap! my first show you opened for the puppet show.

  • they look great now in suits and good hair cut lol

  • So fckn funny...now I recognized them all after I watched the movie for the first time some hours ago...the lead-singer was in a famous x-files-episode where he switched bodys with Mulder...and the little bass-player is doin several voices od the simpsons-characters...holy moly

  • I'm a Brit and ironically Christopher Guest's English accent is the one I find least convincing. The other two are good, but not quite perfect. Harry Shearer's is the best.

  • No. Left and middle were born in New York. One on right was born in California.

One on left (Chris Guest) had British parents though and has lived in England. He even has some royal lineage!

  • Fuck sake course not you heard the accents mate. haha fake as shit dude

  • Christopher Guest is the only British one. And I think he's a British American.

  • And he's actually a Baron. Look on wiki.

  • they sound so much more intelligent with English accents

  • You could have a MENSA member with a southern accent vs a person with a British accent with an IQ of about 85 and the Brit would sound far superior.

  • unless they're scottish

  • Although I personally love Scottish accents, you're right.

  • @MickeyLove01 That's debatable considering that their "English accents" are basically bad "mockney" and make them sound kind of thick and uneducated by English standards. Then again, compared to half the people in America even a Yam Yam sounds intelligent. LOL

  • @MickeyLove01 They've got english accents when they play spinal tap ...

  • @HaniiPuppy well DUH!!

  • @MickeyLove01 Really? They are out of character.

  • @WrongRealities and they wonder why aliens always land in america?

  • He does: Montgomery Burns, Ned Flanders, Waylon Smithers, Lenny Leonard, Kent Brockman, Timothy Lovejoy, Seymour Skinner, Dr. Julius Hibbert and Otto. and some others i think.

  • he does many voices in the simpsons

  • The guy in the middle looks like Tony Bliar!

  • i have to admit, they look better than before lol

  • there not british

  • no shit

  • Theyre from S.N.L.

  • True,to a point. Christopher Guest(Nigel) is 1/2 English and the 5th Baron Haden-Guest. (Makes Jamie Lee Curtis a Lady) Spent much of his childhood in Britain. He used to attend The House of Lords.

Not surprising he can "do" English. The other two are just amazing actors.

  • wasnt uh, david in airheads it fukin looks lik him

  • Yeah, he's the head honcho guy. He's in a lot of things. I think he's in Coneheads too.

  • I recently rewatched this movie and it is still brilliant and hilarious.

Christopher Guest looked cute as Nigel, but I have to say that also without the wig and after all these years, there is something about him. I understand what Jamie Lee Curtis sees in him.

  • Well said Brib333.

  • Wow, didn't know untill know that the bassplayer's the same guy as the voice of Skinner in Simpsons :)

  • he IS the Skinner' voice. Google it =)

  • I'm not 100% sure...but I think he is Flanders too.

  • let these guys have some fun will yA ..

I've managed to make a Amp witch goes till 12 ....... due lack of RocK ... i have to sell it ......... anybody?

  • yeah maybe if it wasn't so fucking expensive it'd be fun, this was bullshit.

  • The same that wanted to see KISS unmasked. And what a disaster that was ...

    :-)

  • Fuck you!

  • they are so fuckin hilarious!!!

  • these guys confuse the hell out of me!!

  • haha i never actually know they were american :P

    thats a shame...

  • Why is that a shame? Surprised that they are actors who are not who they appear to be?

  • New Port Urinal

  • I love McKean and Guest's matching garb. I dont think Shearer has worn a suit since his bar mitzvah.

  • Sweet, going to see this show in exactly one week from today! Riverside in Milwaukee, should be interesting, entertaining, and hilarious. Thanks for posting this, and the interviews on the website, great stuff! (I only wished I would have caught the tour from a few years ago which was Spinal Tap with The Folksmen opening, that had to be funny.)

  • ...and we wanted to do it because there are almost no production costs...
