DUDE, W.C is for Fighting, in the most simplest and direct way. The open hand system is almost impossible to kill someone in a matter of seconds. Why should anyone prove you anything anyway? Special forces such as SWAT or the CIA are trained in WT. Leung Ting was challenged by many and was never defeated. MMA is for the ring, and it has rules. WT is a lotta contact, we usually end up with bruises. Being first means being fast and being good with timing. Which's WT. And who says we're obligated to use WT only anyway? I did other martial arts (including Aikido, Judo, and JKD) and I use whichever comes handy at the moment.

theres little difference really since you cant practice no rules so the difference is strategic eg theres no squaring off,the ground is hard,weapons and multiple attackers are likely,youre trying to survive and escape rather than win etc.Basically if someone can beat you at mma.theres little chance they wont on the street .except for a pre emptive strike where anybody can be beat.Self defense isnt a match fight.
Obviously "no rules" can't be practiced... But you said that early mma showed traditional martial artists were basically a fraud.. My only point is that that judgement can't be made within the context of a competition.. If you take an "mma" guy and pit him against an equally determined/skilled and dedicated fighter that trains only in killing people (which is what martial arts is) and take away all rules and legal ramifications, I would put my money on the "traditional" fighter...

too many turks and germans practice WT. i rather stick to wong shun leung`s and kenneth cheung`s versions of wing chun and of course arnis (my ancestors` art of fighting)

Schade dass es hier in Augsburg keine EBMAS schule gibt, ich hab sehr gern trainiert nur die Trainer bzw. Schulen hier in Augsburg sind ziemlich klein, man kommt meistens nicht weiter als bis zum 2. Techniker..
Daher hab ich jetzt eine Pause eingelegt, bis war gescheites nach Augsburg kommt.. keine Großverbände mehr hier..
