hey i bought a full sized geely cy50-a model 50cc scooter made in china got 900 miles and blew the engine so i fully understand what you mean about china and cheap ass parts
Yes. The seat could easily be removed, but standing on this for very long would be a pain for someone over 5' tall. I would sometimes stand up but it was easier to steer the scooter when sitting.
well a problem ur having is that u may weigh 150 or more not sayin ur fat and thats the problem with the suspension too i mean how many adults do u see having electric scooters honestly either they hav a car or motorcycle usually they design these for kids or early teens like 12 to 14
Yes. I am a bit heavy. This scooter claims to handle my weight (around 200lb) with ease, and it did scoot me around pretty good. But I never achieved 20 mph on a flat grade. Also the ride wasn't bad at all.
scary using an XLR plug with a power cord this really shows how much of a 3rd party job this is. XLR is a signal cable not a power cable. what if someone plugged it into an XLR slot on the back of a really expensive audio amp? would ruin it for sure lol.
very interesting video! would love to buy such a scooter, but it's difficult to find a one that is not broken very fast. i fear it will need some time until battery and price goes down. until then, i'll ride my "normal" scooter that only requires the power of my legs ;-)
I decided to make my own e-bike. A really fun project using scrap parts and runs fine on a cheap car battery. After the final tweeking I'll put it on youtube.
@billremnant hi i may get this scooter, but why did you say it only goes 15 or 16 miles per hour!!!!! i thought it goes 23, thats what it says on all the sites!!!
It may go 23 mph down a steep hill (I was able to do about 22 mph down a hill in town), but never on a flat grade. Maybe if you only weighed 50 lbs it would go faster than 16mph.
@youngkid1021 i got a pocket bike, they r faster than this... but im thinking of getting 1 of these scooters so i can actually go to the store with it... with a pocket bike, u cant really go to the store and stuff... i am trying to get 1 of these electric scooters for christmas, just trying to figure out how much they cost and where to get them...
u can get these from argos but in the new book u cant get the seat ones they cos about £140 k want one very bad coz all my mates got mopeds and mum and dad wont get me one coz they say there dangerous so ill save up for one of these!
A nice mountain bike would last longer. Just make sure you do your research or you'll be crying over wasted money with nothing to show for it than a pile of shoddy steal.
I'm sure you could find something, I'd almost suggest you just get a gas powered scooter since those are really efficient and much more reliable than many of the electric options.

Now Johnjay, don't get all riled up for no reason. I did this as an experiment 2 years ago. No scooters were harmed during the making of this review. :)
Without having tested it, and just based on looks and based on comments I've read from other users, the Ezip 1000 is a better scooter overall than the x600.
Hi, I'm looking to buy an electric scooter and, although you said not to buy it I quite like the looks of it and I am only 12 so some things would work better for me because I am lighter. The only problem is I am from England and the only place you can seem to buy these things is in America. Do you know any websites or stores that would sell them in England? thanks. TJ
Just do some google searching for electric scooters. Check out visforvolt(dot)org for good forums where guys can give you better advice on buying near your location.
Hey! KsCustoms engineering here. I work with scooters a lot, and let me tell you, these X-treme scooters are NOT extreme at all. I do not reccomend any X-treme scooter. I work with things like this all the time, and all of these scooters are just plain junk. no offence to china, but they ARE chinese pieces of crap.
The customer service is also HORRIBLE. My friend had an x-400 (gas) and the whole experience is horrible. the rear disc brakes are horrible and last about a week before wearing....
Yes. I found the construction to be a bit shoddy. The metal was definitely not the hardest stuff in several spots. I can only imagine what this scooter would look like after 2 years of use. Not to mention the abuse a child/teen would give it.
I have no knowledge of the 562, maybe someone will do a video review of it? I'm actually thinking about giving another electric scooter a try (probably one bigger in size, like an electric moped).
@billremnant please refit the batteries with lithium sulfate...a little dear but would drastically improve the ride performance, weight , and distance of the scooter
Why didn't you get a moped? Probably perfect for you. 120 mpg. My 25 year old Honda Rebel motorcycle gets 80mpg, but then it does 80mph and is a full motorbike.
I was trying to avoid any fossil fuel reliance with this experiment. I'd love to have a vehicle that I knew wasn't spitting out any pollutants at all while I was beaming around town.
I would just search for an electric scooter dealer on Google and get in touch with them about a spare charger. You could also contact the scooter manufacturer for ideas.
Not a stupid question. This was something I was hoping would be possible before I bought it (in case the battery ran out, I would hopefully be able to use it like a regular scooter), but the resistance from the motor made it near impossible. It was easier to just walk and push it.
After I installed the free wheel clutch to the rear tire, it was easier to use as a typical scooter, but the thing weighed between 60-70 lbs, so it was still cumbersome.
Well i have one thing to say...but before you read it...let me know if the charger that comes with it is a smart charger...ok so if it is....its not that hard....as soon as you done put it in your house/garage and connect the charger...NOT THAT HARD...please comment...im looking into the Super Turbo 800-Elite...i hear it has better batteries and a larger motor!!
hi ive got the 800watt 48v its got 4 batterys and im 12stone it does 26mph on a flat and goes for bout 30miles before it needs charging the more you use it the better the baterys last as they have a memory i use it every day to get to work which is 16miles away then charge it there ive put a smaller sprocket on the back and bigger 1 on the motor dont thighten the back wheel to much as ive found this crushs the bearings and slows it down ive also put off road a nobbly tire on the back for grip
Did it slow down going up steep hills? I live on the top of a large hill (takes 10-15 mins to walk up and down to town) So i am interested in an electric bike or scooter.
i have an ebike, its a mountain bike with a hubmotor. it has only 6 gears but you can also get exersize with it and peddal along. it also has light lithium battery. i can get up to about 30km/h without peddaling. not sure what that is in miles.
I can't recommend any. I haven't been able to test any others. I may try to in the near future, if something nice comes out. I have been leaning more towards technology like the PUMA from GM/Segway. The 2 seater rickshaw thing. I would love to tool around town in that.
the funniest part about people trying to go "green" is the fact that they almost 80% of the time, do more harm than good lmao.. Think about all the energy used to mine the materials, build it, ship it across the ocean from China where it would get shipped probably.. 4 more times until its in the buyers hands, the buyer then uses it for how long? He then buys more parts which requires more shipping, needs new batteries.. THEN it will just sit in his garage until some day it gets recycled/garbage
This is a good observation. But once things are refined and figured out in the next few years, I think it will be a more viable alternative to fossil fuels.
I wanted to try it with lithium polymer batteries, but the price was a bit high for my wallet. The scooter wasn't worth lipol batteries in my opinion, it would have fallen apart after another year or two based on the shoddy construction.
nice vid if scooters arn't for you then you should get a electric bike there very good. you can peddle and use throttle and cruise around at high speeds. i live in australia so don't know any good brands but try ebay there about 900 AU not sure about US. there great because you can go up hills and just peddle up and have the motor going (it feels like your on the flat).
@johnv500 I saw that several of the components to this scooter would eventually wear out within a year or two. The wheels especially. I probably hauled around 240 lbs tops on this thing on 3-4 mile routes. The higher end scooters would last longer due to better components.
It came stock with disc brakes. I switched out the rear disc brake for a drum style brake so I could put a free-wheel clutch on it. It worked out better for my needs. The old disc brake was not centered right and would rub the brake pads (which would cause friction and wear the battery down faster).
@PizzaHutFan1 As far as I know, you cannot over charge it. The charger detects a full charge and shuts off. If the charger malfunctioned, the batteries would be under warranty (but their warranty was only 60 or 90 days from time of purchase when I got it).
That's fine, but the whole idea of this "experiment" was to not be as reliant on fossil fuels. Albeit I would have been dependent on coal since that's what provides most of our electrical needs here in the US.
You asked me to let you know when I finished my elelctric bike. It's finished now and it's on my youtube chanel if you want to check it out.

That sounds like a better setup. Being able to peddle if your battery is low or if you want some exercise is a great alternative.

hey man what Electric scooter would you recommend that's on the market?
st3nkobe 1 year ago
@st3nkobe
I can't recommend any. I haven't been able to test any others. I may try to in the near future, if something nice comes out. I have been leaning more towards technology like the PUMA from GM/Segway. The 2 seater rickshaw thing. I would love to tool around town in that.

Just wanted to say this scooter comes in different versions and setups.
I have one with a key activated switch and a very different front suspension system complete with wavy/drilled disc brakes front and back.
Speed is 20-23mph and I weigh 8.8Stone
So far reliability/sturdyness is good, but brakes need daily adjustment due to slight warp in disk
Great fun, and WOULD recommend but check on the legality of using one in your area.
Only issue is riding one handed to indicate, becomes unstable

the funniest part about people trying to go "green" is the fact that they almost 80% of the time, do more harm than good lmao..

But once things are refined and figured out in the next few years, I think it will be a more viable alternative to fossil fuels.

how fast can it reach maximum ?? PLZ answer me
44joker55 1 year ago
@44joker55
I posted that in the video... or at least I talked about it. I remember it being around 17mph on a flat grade and around 21 or 22 mph down a hill.

try it with lipo cells,, it will be fun :)
Ockelbot 1 year ago
@Ockelbot
I wanted to try it with lithium polymer batteries, but the price was a bit high for my wallet. The scooter wasn't worth lipol batteries in my opinion, it would have fallen apart after another year or two based on the shoddy construction.

I have problems running Youtube videos at times also. Maybe Google needs to commit more bandwidth to this so we don't have that problem.

your big mistake was getting electric
toad773 2 years ago
an ugly scooter.
SvenskFilm2 2 years ago
nice vid if scooters arn't for you then you should get a electric bike there very good. you can peddle and use throttle and cruise around at high speeds. i live in australia so don't know any good brands but try ebay there about 900 AU not sure about US. there great because you can go up hills and just peddle up and have the motor going (it feels like your on the flat).

@numademan Thanks. I should redo the audio though. It is horrible, but I just haven't taken the time to fix it.
billremnant 2 years ago
@johnv500 I saw that several of the components to this scooter would eventually wear out within a year or two. The wheels especially. I probably hauled around 240 lbs tops on this thing on 3-4 mile routes. The higher end scooters would last longer due to better components.
billremnant 2 years ago
@Warganic646
It came stock with disc brakes. I switched out the rear disc brake for a drum style brake so I could put a free-wheel clutch on it. It worked out better for my needs. The old disc brake was not centered right and would rub the brake pads (which would cause friction and wear the battery down faster).

im geting a this scooter for x-mas does the charger die if you over charge?
PizzaHutFan1 2 years ago
@PizzaHutFan1 As far as I know, you cannot over charge it. The charger detects a full charge and shuts off. If the charger malfunctioned, the batteries would be under warranty (but their warranty was only 60 or 90 days from time of purchase when I got it).

i can go faster than 15mph on my bicycle
JEHERETIC 2 years ago
Sure on a touring bike 15mph would be fairly easy to maintain, but you'd be tired and sweaty.
I road this to work and I didn't want to be a mess when I got there.
billremnant 2 years ago
get a gas scooter way better
codehpro 2 years ago
That's fine, but the whole idea of this "experiment" was to not be as reliant on fossil fuels. Albeit I would have been dependent on coal since that's what provides most of our electrical needs here in the US.

i recomend ezip 400. get it at pepboyz.

sair008 2 years ago
lead acid batteries dont last long, your distance will drop by half or more, after a month and half or so of high use.
