Sweetie knows so many different things, you cannot judge something like that from one video. At the rehearsal, people were gathered around and they watched her do this many times with letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc. If they thought it was just me leading her, they would not have put her on tv.

She reminds me of this famous dog I read about in Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul. I think it was in the early 60s that this dog was discovered and it could identify things so easily without even being shown what it was initially. It was the smartest dog at that time and perhaps your dog may be a reincarnation of that dog.

Thank you for your interest in Sweetie. Many people still remember Sweetie from "The Tonight Show" from September, 2002. Is there any other dog you remember that has ever appeared on that show? Make sure you see the other Youtube videos and the ones on her website. I hope to have a book about Sweetie in about a year and a half or two years.

It's a audio/video delay that happened when I transferred the VHS tape to my dv camera. Sweetie only saw those photos one time before the live performance. If you look at the "talking" video of Sweetie on Youtube, you will see her website. View the videos on the site. You will see there is no pattern. People remember Sweetie from this program five years after it aired. Jay showed this clip five out of six nights in the week after Sweetie was on.

I asked Sweetie who she was in a past life, and she spelled out the name of my grandmother. She then spelled out the name of her husband, children, and sisters. She has done this repeatedly. Imagine how it felt when that happened!

Absolutely not!!! If you go to her website, which is on the talking youtube video, you will see Sweetie do a lot more things. Click on incredible videos. I did NOT teach her what any of those things are-like the clock faces, cards, spelling, etc. She did it all on her own. The only explanation is reincarnation-she learned it in a past life!

I saw this and I was like, "Wait a minute, I actually SAW this on tv" xD Didn't Sweetie also spell out words?

I only taught her to show me what I ask for with her paw. That is it. I never taught her what a letter, number, color, etc. was. She could identify each thing the first time I put it in front of her. She only saw those photographs one time for a few minutes before she went on the show. They made those pictures, and they gave them to me just before the show.
