    Got to revolution!!

  • @IgnacioIF Revolution for Peace. It'll save us from ourselves. It will also serve water or tea. We're out of coffee.

  • guys, don't argue.

  • Are you sure this is "Jefferson Airplane Takes Off"? I could swear I hear Grace singing...

  • hi where did you get all of these cool pictures? how did you find them? thanks for uploading!

  • What a gem... so Rawe i love it just awesome vocals of Gracie and great psycherdelic guitar of Kantnor and Balin... GOld..

  • Wow another cool song I never knew existed! The 60's and 70's were truly an era filled with music greatness.

  • Dudesss.... SERIOUSLY.... If u actually were able to feel this music u wouldnt be fighting over stupid shit!

PEACE!! Thats what Im saying! :)

  • WATCH Best part in the movie The Game. Feat. music -Jefferson Airplane -White Rabbit-

  • Whoa, really cool video! :)

  • Nobody sings this song like my man Edgar Winter. I respect this version but I have to say that no one belts the vocals like Edgar

  • wonderful song! w gli jefferson airplane

  • Great group love the video

  • Never knew they did a version of this, really nice arrangement and love the psychedelic pictures. My own favourite Tobacco Road version is that of the Blues Magoos, another short lived psychedelic rock band of the 60's and I proudly managed to get their Psychedlic Lolipop LP (rarity) and still listen to it from time to time.

  • its interesting that the pic of the ass creatures looks similiar to the band uranus had from LA back in the 70's

  • Signe Toly Anderson-didnt she have a great voice!!!!!

  • Edgar Winter slays them all...

  • @ivoryconsort While I like that version better, I see no reason posting a comment that says so. It adds nothing to the discussion. Just a suggestion.

  • hahah @ 0:22

  • so many different versions of this song. personally i'm not a fan of this one. i think it needs to have more of a blues feel to it. the animals did a great job with it. this version's music is way too happy for the lyrics of the song.

  • i love it!!

  • I would love this even more if the pics didn't repeat. Its still awesome though :D

  • why are you people all so crapy,

    IT'S JUST A GREAT SONG

THE PICS DON'T MAKE THE SONG

    THE BAND DOES

  • Man, this is great. Can't stop listening to it. I came to know this song in the Live version, available on the J.A. Box (3 cds). This studio version is nice, smooth.

  • I have re- learned this...unbelievable... leaved it to the airplane to do this

  • I like this version

  • The Animals version is so much better.

  • One of the best versions by far..... Song speaks truth.

  • nice pic

  • wrong band for the song

  • wrong song for the video

  • Great, great, great early Airplane. It never gets old. I'mm 55 and still listening.

  • Why does this video have a song title and not a video title?

  • nics pics! nice pics!

  • nics pics!

  • Ahhh, finally, decent music. Music by talented people who could actually sing/play an instrument at the drop of ahat and not rely on post production mixes

  • for a stellar band like airplane they made a hash of this song, the best part of this clip

was the acid graphics and the end.

  • Truly legendary? Who are you kidding! Just another fifth-rate yank doped out bunch of never was self abusers.

This is my last post as I have a rule about corresponding with halfwits who address me as 'dude' - FFS

  • @jemburrett Im sorry. I know you said this was your last post on the subject but i really have to point this out. You have a problem with someone addressing you as dude, yet you yourself use the abbreviation "FFS" for for fuck sake? I would have to rank slang higher than internet abbreviations so... yeh i hope you understand what im saying :)

  • @jemburrett Dude...get a grip...you are the one who started out so harsh and critical of a truly legendary band...it makes one wonder what kind of "pompous ass" you might be! Besides, the lack of any creative presentation, on your very barren channel, speaks loudly enough about who, and what, you are.

  • @androidstar I love how your response to his comment was condescending as hell. Prick.

  • @jemburrett Murdering??,,,,,..... yer' lucky to hear a cover...a rare cover....by the almighty airplane........so much cooler than the original

  • @jemburrett Yes u being alive

  • @jemburrett So youre saying theres a right and a wrong way to do this song? Sarcasm if you dont know?

  • @jemburrett YOU'RE A BIG FUCKING POMPOUS ASS CUNT

  • @jemburrett I actually agree with you, I like some of Jefferson Airplane but the original by The Nashville Teens is far far superior. I was in a suporting band for the Nashvilles in the late 60s, n was up in London two years sgo, met a guy who told me he was a drummer, I asked him, which band and he said The Nashville teens. we had met way back in the 60s. another coincidence (-:

  • @jemburrett Truly ignorant to the sounds of creative intergration.

  • @jemburrett u suk

  • @jemburrett ...Dude...do you know how many versions of this tune there are recorded by different bands? They all have their own flavor and style ...and each is a gem in itself...besides, what version have you recorded lately?

  • @androidstar I have recorded this in all its glory.............jeff airplane be fartediue

  • @jemburrett HAHA i was there live, i threw eggs and dirt when they preformed, Younger people, born before 1980 will never truly get it, this generation sucks, i feel bad for my grandchildren, who the fuck knows how many more pricks like you are going to try to "correct" them, FUCK YOU! dont tell people anything you dont know ANYTHING about! this band preformed this song perfect then you could even picture it in your stupid little head.

  • @jemburrett Eric burdon truly performed this to its full potential.

  • fuck, I feel like im stoned and I havent even smoked anything...

  • and what an ACE VID/PICTOGRAM IT IS X X X

  • i wish i was at woodstock to see these guys and everybody else

  • the 60'' and 70'' should be on repeat!

  • ware can i find the picture 0:07

  • Comment removed

  • Brings back memories. Marty and Signe seemed to be able to harmonize easily. Marty, Grace and Paul could also harmonize well on later Airplane records and in Starship but always seemed like Marty and Grace were competing.

  • I'm glad you mentioned Pre-Grace. Not that many viewers would recognize it was Signe and Marty

  • Fuckin great vid bro. You should deffinately do another soon.

  • I was told by my grandmother the street I live on used to be called tobacco road because of the weed, but now we call it the four holes because of the hard drugs here. Its still a crazy nieghbourhood for sure

  • Good Tune Good Vid Work Thx!!!

  • I missed out on pre-Grace Slick Airplane (too busy with early VU).

They used to play John D. Loudermilk songs?

    That is very disturbing ....

  • ……. lovely visual tribute to their legendary pre-Grace days, androidstar, so thanks for the enjoyable upload, brother. Namasté ~ (•8-D

  • Welcome to MY world.

  • oh god please give us back the sounds of the 60's

  • @barniskatems77 the masses are already to dumbed-down for that.

  • Is Marty Balin the singer?

  • During the Great Depression, Tobacco Road was a place where people had little more than the land and their own determination to get out.

  • @frodonet It's the tobacco that's not healthy not the pot

  • oh my god.... xD

    at 0:23..........

  • there are a few of strange people with a laser ass....

  • Vocals: Marty Balin and Signe Anderson.

    You're welcome, children.

  • stop smoking pot people. It's not good for health.

    Just enjoy the music.

  • @frodonet

actually, smoking pot once in a while is good for you, if you smoke a joint without tobacco, it cleanses your lungs.

it's the tobacco thats bad for you.

  • @missOMGlikeDuh cleanses your lungs? serious? where did u get this info?

  • @missOMGlikeDuh actually weed does more damage to lungs and its because weed contains more tar substances. But why the hell should i care? No one lives forever!

  • @missOMGlikeDuh . Don't be ridiculous. of course inhaling any smoke is not good for your lungs,

  • @frodonet It's the tobacco that's not healthy not the pot

  • @frodonet im pretty sure u should START smoking pot! makes great music, greater!

  • Love IT! thanks so much

  • Who's the groovy chick singing? This is pre-Slick or no?

  • thank for favoriting my vids! hey my friend drew some of those posters in your video! rick griffin was my old surfing buddy, peace!

  • Lord - I sure wish someone had gotten some live video of the original Airplane. Grace was good - but never gave me the chills I got from Signe and Marty.

  • @BastDG I don't know if you've discovered this yet but go to Youtube and or Google and put in: Jefferson Airplane with Signe Toly Anderson. If you need to add: It's no secret. ( I don't think the caps matter.) It's 1965 and my oldest sister Lynette swears she was there. ENJOY!!!!

  • disciplin a kitschme did a cover of "tobacco road" on "heavy bass blues". pretty good. look it up.

  • WOW-This Music Is Alot Better Than What I Do:)

  • no offense:

    of course it is.

  • Really enjoyed the video, very nice imagery. A very tasty cover from one of the all-time great psychedelic bands. Androidstar, thanks for putting this together!

  • i think i like their cover better than the original by nashville teens...war's was good too.

  • The Nashville Teens did not do the original. That was done by John D. Loudermilk, who wrote it.

Just in case facts still matter to anyone.

  • yeah, but he was from nashville...ha.

none of his stuff really made charts or anything if you wanted to find it you'd probably have to get it on a b-side.

  • WOW!What a great song!1966?Oh boy 60' and 70' for me r best decades ever!

  • Yes you are completely correct with that :D

  • Love Signe's voice. It's a pity she decided to quit singing.

Andy of course, Marty is gorgeous, as always.

  • Best version in my opinion is Eric Burdon and WAR. That's got some soul to it. Love your pics in this video tho.

  • great song, great artwork, amazing but the quality sucks..

5 stars, thanks for upping this song

where do you get these pictures??

  • i like tthe artwork

  • Nice video Androidstar. It's good to remember the Jefferson Airship, before they became the dreadful disco Starship.

  • the Nashville Teens made this song famous.

  • is this the original video?

  • Hi, actually I created this video to post that rare early Pre-Grace Slick Jefferson Airplane tune with.

  • dude where did you get these pics they are soooo sweet i want to live in them

  • @ACmetalfaceDC It's not that hard, Why don't you expierence psychedelics?

  • @androidstar Man, I agree this is groovy but its definitely not a rare tune. I could get you 5 of these on vinyl tomorrow :) Peace and Love

  • lol

  • no Rainbow this is not the original video.

  • well im sorry i wasnt alive

  • the pictures are soo sick

  • I agree. The pictures are changing too quick. They are so nice, Great song :)

  • i totally cant focus with the pictures constantly changing

    theyre soooo pretty!

    i want to hug them:D

  • Did Led Zeppelin covered the intro of the song for their song "No Quarter"?

  • I just checked. I hear what your saying, but I think they just sound simmilar. Maybe though. That's just what I thought.

  • When this came out they were The Hot new band in town. Skip Spence pre-Moby Grape on Drums & Signi singing before Grace who was with The Great Society.

Great time around SF with everything new.

    This brings me right back-Thanks.

I don't have to compare this one with

anybody else to say this is a great version & Marty Blain has soul & could & can really sing.

Jefferson Airplane get ya There on time.

    Wadda Trip!

  • i like diamond daves version

  • few minutes ago i heard the version of the animals, but i wrote there that this is the best one...
