I find it utter amazing that we have the resources in the ground that will create jobs, get industry back onto its feet and remove us from foreign oil..yet all this other b.s. keeps getting shoved down our throats. If you look at the majority of American opinion, it is to drill now.

The left opinion is not to free us but burden us with more taxes..the politics is being played by Democrats

I t has been proven multiple times over that in the U.S. alone we have more than enough oil to sustain ourselves for hundreds of years (chiefengineer). That is in the Upper Alaskan area alone, not to mention what is in the Rockies and the Dakota's. So, I am smarter that that.

@Drumboy5165 We have 2% of the World's Oil Reserves, were a country of 300M people & we consume 20% of the World's Oil which is why there is a consensus among Democrats & Republicans, Left & Right that we have to develop other sources of clean energy. Thats why the Republican Leadership in both Chambers are for the "All & Above Strategy" to Energy Independence. Not buying your argument of Oil Independence at least not for America.

To see what we have in oil reserves. It is not what our 'friends' in government tell you.In this it states only one reserve to keep us that long, only one! I say find other sources sure, but you cannot make laws restricting the use until we have legitimate alternatives.

@ErikS1975FreeState I agree with the diversity, but we definitely should have something in place prior to stopping the drilling, as of right now we could be so easily cut off and militarily stopped and thus neutralized. We will get there, it is just going to take time. In the meantime we should build refinery's, drill and get some people in this country working, otherwise everyone will be on Obama's welfare & 'healthcare' UGH!! :)

But as I was saying we cannot stop the country until we have a viable alternative, and think of the amount of jobs that would be created, watch the Saudi's prices drop and we would not have the threat of our oil being cut off...and as of right now that is a threat.

One other item, government consensus means nothing when they refuse to base their information upon facts, I mean that what the liberals do.

I don't know, but my money is on Americans, not negative environmentalists who want us to live in the dark ages again. I believe in American ingenuity and ability to get it done, like we have for the last 200 years...it's only lately that the guilt ridden, ball-less and spineless keep telling our kids that we cannot do it, they are wrong.
