it would be impressive if they showed troops sleeping out in the open during -40C temps.........that would show some toughness. I do it regularly on winter camping excursions. The secret is to keep moisture out of your sleeping bag. The best kit for that, I found, is a "wet suit". A sleeping bag will stay warm if it is kept dry. I wish the CDN Forces taught me that but I had to learn it on my own LOL BTW hot cayenne pepper is good for promoting circulation to the hands & feet-just rub it in.:)

If you actually look into SAS operations they are not very impressive. Yes they are good with hostage situations, but if you look a the Falklands war for example they shows very poor performance and low success rates. The spetsnaz are simply the best special operations "soldiers" they can work with nothing to achieve extraordinary performance. Look up hill 776, it was VDV but less then 70 poorly armed men with no support held against 3000 while getting bombed by artillery. Spetsnaz/VDV = Spartan
