The fact that every one of Journey's albums only recieved 1 star out of 5 from Rolling Stone magazine is why i never listen to a goddamn word 'Bowling Stoned' says!
i learned all the music i know from my parents so thanks mom and dad for showing me how to rock. i was born in 94' 80s was still popular then along with some bands like slaughter. heres my saying if it sounds good then ill listen to it.
SO MANY GREAT SONGS...THANKS JRNY....IF THAT'S NYC I WAS A TRANSPLANT FROM TEXAS AND THE PEOPLE IN MANHATTAN ARE FANTASTIC..DEBBIE HARRY IS MY QUEEN AND BLONDIE WAS MY SAVIOR...
Everytime I hear this song I want to go and watch Vision Quest. If you didn't grow up in the 80's ......then you probably have no idea what the hell I'm talking about.
When I hear Steve Perry and Journey I just want to choose to remember them as they were -- just a legendary band and a singer on the same level as Freddie Mercury, one of the greatest in Rock and Roll history -- Steve, just kick back and enjoy, you are a certified legend
Today's music means very little, same old contrived crap churned out again. Infact who knows what the No.1 single is even. Back in the 80's, well the Greats sang then and their music was legendary. Do I miss the 80's? Of course I do! Send me back plz.
The 80s was a very special time. Music meant something to people back then. It inspired us to do better. To love, and live our lives like there was no tomorrow. Steve Perry sang with his heart. He put himself into every song, and let us see into his world ... one verse... one note ... at a time. This song fit the movie Vision Quest. Why? "And I guess that's why we got to love those people who deserve it like there's no tomorrow. 'Cause when you get right down to it - there isn't. "
well shit guys. i dont want to know ages but if ur a teen, its not much to brag on. i was raised on this, plus steve perry gave me my career. its a bit more interesting to hear about rather than "my dad showed it to me. I must be cool."
@LeeChungAe lighten up, at least there speaking possitive bout the good bands from back then, who live on even today through there beautiful music, are you a person who likes to badmouth kids and teenagers to make ur self feel like a big man? im 21 and im a huge fan of every 80's band out there and my personnal favorite is queen
@Zach97Attack better pull out some of their earlier music....talk about epic! They were AMAZING...WERE, meaning WITH Steve Perry...not that Pineda little shit calling himself a SP Wannabe.
@wdharvey1 Thank you, at least I am not the only sane person in this world who thinks that this WAS an amazing band, and I could say it WAS my favorite band. Unfortunately I can no longer say that, because that band they now call "Journey" is a facade!!!!
@TheClanNBK saw'em TWICE....once on tour with "Escape", opened by Bryan Adams, second on tour with Raised on Radio (disappointment, unless you count the fact that Randy Jackson of American Idol played bass for them...didn't realize that until years later, though). Mr. Perry sang both tours...
anybody here from east durham,n.c.remember a band called blizzard?ricky wilson, william[billy]bazen, pat register joe johnson.these guys were the second journey.they were awesome live!!!!!!!!!!
I may only be 12, but i grew up with Journey, Boston, Styx, etc. All I would ever want to listen to on a drive somewhere is my mom's Journey Greatest Hits cd. Even my 5th grade teacher thinks I should be 40(his age) because we both like all the same things(This music, Star Wars, 80's stuff) I just am thankful for being a kid with good taste
@dantemania1 Just so peopel don't start postin replies on this about me being held back, I'm in 6th grade, but my 5th grade teachers did and still does think so. (My school is k-8)
@dantemania1 Nothing wrong with liking 70's & 80's music. My kids are your age and they like a lot of 70's & 80's rock. Mostly because I love that music myself. But beside that they do like more modern music too and actually ..they introduce me to it as well and I can appreciate that to. Works both ways haha Just enjoy the music :-)
@sandystillblooms Well only being 27 now I didnt technicaly grow up with this. but in a way i did. All i listened to growing up was Journey aerosmith meatloaf acdc etc.. Tell you what it brings back memories and wow music just isnt like this anymore. Some artists really capture the spirit of music but none do it quite like Journey.
omg... my best friend, Beth Toll and I listening to this, eating Fried Chicken, and driving around in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Good grief, I loved her so ....
This is one of my all time favorite groups!! And I had almost forgot about this cut! It never got much air time back in the day, but what a great song!!!!!! Makes me want to be 16-18 again :o)
Yea, and except for pinball, (KISS) the only group with their own video game! Journey the Arcade game, and the Atari 2600 port of it. :-) ( I love cranking up Journey when I play them)
I grew up listening to Journey. I think they are 1 of the all time great bands. I couldn't believe when some famous (worthless) contemporary music critic (can't remember who) voted them as the worst band in history. Ummmm, Ok. Worst eh? So that means Milli Vanilli & Vanilla Ice beat out Journey? Pulease!
@gjc82071 Journey is what a friend of mine would call "epic." It's music played by musicians, not by drones, money hungry fools, or by computers. They had a competent lyricist (actually beyond competent). Oh, Journey's really terrible all right. WOW. The phrase, "age of insanity" comes to mind. That critic, what an idiot.
this is the first "real" song i can ever remember listenin too. i was born in 89 but i'm so glad i grew up with journey and boston etc. fuck yeh love me some journey.
