One died in a car accident at age 5, one defected and denounced the Jones family, and the ONLY reason this guy and the two other boys survived was because he and his brothers refused to comply with his father's orders to return to the compound for Con. I don't have enough information about this, but I understand that NONE of Jim's children were there when this happened. I find that very suspect. Not saying that the kid's knew about the plot, but he might have sent them off, knowing what he was going to do.

All three had bad childhoods they didn't choose to have, yet it is because they chose AS ADULTS to manipulate vulnerable people into killing and dying for their selfish needs.

what we chose & who we are AS ADULTS is a direct result of our childhood and adolescence. that's when the neural pathways in the brain are mostly formed. it'd be interesting to see how you or i would behave were we brought up in prison with no parents or love.

I didn't know JJ was Jesuit or Catholic. I was looking up Jesuits on wiki & saw that there was a new leader. So I click to Adolfo Nicolás (new one) .. first fucking thing I thought of when I saw his picture was Jim Jones! He looks like an older , aged Jim Jones!! Except for the teeth. I haven't seen very clear picture of Jim Jones smiling, but from the pics I have seen, his teeth were straight - possibly dentures. Then I come here looking for JJ - and find hes a Jesuit! Freaking WEIRD!

This guy seems more levelheaded then his father sounded on the tapes. I think he was misled as it pertains to some of the statements he made. Total Socialism leads to this kind of thing, mass murder. Same with Fascism, there is nothing good all about these two isms and history has proven that. I still think it was bullshit that the reporters seemed to be blaming him for what his wing nut father did, that was pretty unfair. He seems pretty intelligent and nice though.

I've heard once that absolute power corrupts the mind. Jim jones tried to have all the power and his motives for that were simply to have what he never had as a child. And for the people of jonestown, their motives where good. They tried to make a world were everyone is accepted no matter what you are or where you come from. So there if it was just for a brief second everyone was accepted. And today everyone seems to forget that and talk about religion or none religion and their beliefs.

@ivoirlondongial Correction: Four of his nine children died alongside with the others in Jonestown. One died in a car accident at age 5, one defected and denounced the Jones family, and the ONLY reason this guy and the two other boys survived was because he and his brothers refused to comply with his father's orders to return to the compound for Con. Ryan's visit. And they attempted to seek help for the Jonestown people, but the Embassy wouldn't allow them in after the assassination of Ryan.
