Ableton Live: Installing Plugins

i tried this adding my native instruments vst plug in folder and got the message installation folder is not writable. please select a folder now i press ok and abbleton just goes non responsive wtf????

@xtants10 Hi. Are you trying to use the 3rd party plugins you use in FL Studio with Ableton or are you trying to use the stock FL Studio plugins in Ableton Live?

I've made a custom folder for my vst plugins and I've set my .dll file in that file and rescaned the file and STILL the vst won't show up.. How can I fix this?

@UknownArtistband Thanks for your question, one possibility is that the plug-in is a PPC plug-in and wont work with an Intel processor. Are you using a computer with an intel processor?

what do you do if after scanning, deleting prefs, "alt-scanning", reinstalling both plugin and ableton, trying different versions of ableton, rebooting, deleting registry values and reinstalling, plus a little more, all several times, a plugin which used to work fine (i.e. is 32bit) won't show up in browser? can you manually add plugins? starting to hate abletons severe lack of config options, pretty unable-ton when u run into a problem. i guess they have to cater for mac users tho :P

This helped a lot. I now can pull up massive and I can pull up maschine. However, I can never see them both in the plug in viewer. Also, I have to browse for them everytime.. What am I not doing right?

Any ideas what happened: I installed reFX Nexus and it worked fine, UNTIL weeks after it started making this HUGE white noise mixed with other waves, depending what preset I was using... It almost popped my ears out. "Same" thing happened with Massive except it didn't make ANY kind of sound... This problem never occured in FL Studio

This is not how it works for Ambleton Live 8. There is no plug-in folder in the Ableton program folder and neither is there a Steinberg folder!
