  • Evolution is a poor example of science. It is just a bad joke.

  • @darkfur35 evolution is just science fiction and a very bad fairy tale, but it is always embraced by the ungodly.

  • no, evolutionist were taught by the natural world. creationists were taught by other creationist

  • When it comes to evolution all professors are stupid - WHY, they were tought by humans - plain and simple? :-)

  • And I suppose you get your knowledge from an imaginary friend who lives in the sky, or maybe from a hodge-podge collection of tiny books thrown together 2,000 yrs ago to make up a bigger book written by humans, only 'men' of course. :0

  • Where did you get your statistics from that "no idiot professor believes this" you said you made a sincere effort to understand Darwin's theory and yet you do not understand that his work is the unifying theory of the life sciences, so I would say there are many that accept this theory to be true, mass psychology is more likely found within religious groups, who keep the outside world at bay and take refuge in superstition, supressing any logic and reason they have left.

  • the sad truth oleyokeyyy, is that not believing in his theory at this point in our civilization's lifetime, could cause far bigger disasters than fascism, communism, and terrorism.

  • you reaffirmed my faith in misinformed idiots spouting nonsense on the internet. bravo

  • "a bear who lived long enough by a lake started to get fish properties and turned into a whale"

Never seen that quote, maybe you should read one of his books, otherwise you may end up thinking a magic man made everything, which of course would be a very silly theory

  • gabonicabitis, I've read many works of Darwin himself and also from other Darwinists like Dawkins. What Ive tried to summerize with that quote, is the primitive logic of those people. In fact its even more irrational than that quote. Darwinists state that they believe that all life arose from non living matter. Ordinary molecules without any intelligence decided to form proteins. And then they came together, formed living cells, multiplied and formed all living things in the world.

  • and that is more irrational than thinking a great invisible magic man in the sky made everything as it is, your summary was very poor and indicates you haven't understood even if you have read any, which I kind of doubt. I take it that you believe in a magic man creating everything. Evolution has mountains of evidence and Darwin, did great work for humanity by releasing us from our superstitious nature and to actually explore reality.

  • The summary I made is a direct one. This is the reason why you consider it as schokking, but read it sincerly. This is the esence of evolution. The reason why many people want so much to believe in this primitive theory, is like you show because of they dont understand the power of God. I suggest this kind of people to make a sincere research about religion, like I do about Darwinism. If theyll get to know what religion really is about, theyll be asking themselves why theyve waited so long.

  • The summary you made was infantile, I laughed when you stated that Darwin and Dawkins use primitive logic when you express yourself no better than a schoolchild. The notion of god has absolutely no evidence and can easily be traced to mere superstition, and sadly once afflicted takes a lot to remove the brainwashing and blinkers. I have read the bible and it is clearly a work of fiction, try Jerry ACoyne's 'Why Evolution is True' it is quite a clear summary and will help to understand it better.

  • It is apparent you don't understand chemistry, you don't understand lipids, you don't understand proteins, you don't understand cell biology. A man is a "darwinist" if he understands that animal species arise from small changes from their ancestors, and that over a long time the totality of the changes can be huge in effect; namely, all the forms of life on Earth. They believe that Darwin described the mechanism by which this happens. That is what a darwinist "believes".

  • Well, thats a very new definition hat you give now. But that wont change nothing; the collapse of the theory of evolution is a fact; it doesnt matter if you accept it or keep believing;

  • Right. I'm sure you find lots of confirmation for that in your own local community.

Don't like my definition? Propose your own. Specifically, a Darwinist is a person who holds to the theories exposed in Darwin's ten or so books on the matter. An evolutionist starts there, but includes Mendel's observations and all the work in cell biology and genetics that leads up to today. But don't be lead around by my definitions; give us yours.

  • Furthermore, all scientific proofs are against evolution, you will be totally convinced if you just read 10 pages of the book "the evolution deceit" or take a look at the site replytoatheim.

  • In that contention you are 100% wrong. I've read all of those sources you mention and a number who are greatly more serious than those are. Have you read Behe, or Demski, Morris or Gish? I have, and their arguments, IMHO, stink. You're going to have to go a lot deeper than any ten pages, including any thousand pages reportedly written by god itself, to make any impression here.

  • Hearing these names is a first step towards the right path; what you have to do know is being brave and reading some pages intensively, without prejudges; and I keep saying it: its impossible that you keep believing in evolution once you ll have read 10 pages of "the evolution deceit"

  • Hah! Patronization, is it? I'm telling you I've been there, done that, lived to tell, and stomped on the grave. Enough pretend-science for a lifetime.

Learn something real. You're wasting all that intelligence that nature evolved into you.

  • puncheex, if youve really read "the evolution deceit," then you know for sure that the theory of evolution is false. Its not that hard to understand. Even a child of 3 years old wouldnt believe that writing errors on genetic information, mutations, have made systems such as the circulatory, organs like the eye and the heart, a proces like photosynthesis; and that they did that all symmetrically and with golden ratio. So how can a smart man like puncheex believe this?

  • I know nothing of a sort. I have some considerable insight on how exactly it is done. The golden ratio? Look - there are thousands of measurements that can be taken on a human body. I'm not surprised - in fact, I'd be very surprised by the contrary - that some combination of measurements would approximate the ratio, just as happens with the pyramids, flowers, trees, whatever. It's called coincidence. If you take enough measurements, you'll be able to find any number you need.

  • You simply have no idea about the sophistication of biological systems that can come about by the application of a few simple laws plus some randomness.

  • @puncheex i would say most people don't...

  • @gabonicabitis: The quote is (in the first edition of Origins):

"... if better adapted competitors did not already exist in the country, I can see no difficulty in a race of bears being rendered, by natural selection, more and more aquatic in their structure and habits, with larger and larger mouths, till a creature was produced as monstrous as a whale."

Of course, that is exactly what happened, only to a hippo-like animal rather than a bear. It is happening to otters and beavers as we speak.

  • ... Oh, and platypuses as well. In fact the echidna is today reckoned to have gone the same way as it's cousin the platypus, only to have later turned around and gone back to being a dry land creature. Such is the pressure of environment. This statement earned him ridicule among the day's biologists, and he dropped it from later editions.

  • @oleyokeyyy: With the dearth of fossil evidence, it was not a bad guess on Darwin's part about the whale. The only part he got wrong is that it wasn't a bear, but more like a hippo. You think it's shameful he should have botched it so badly; I think its truly powerful that he got so close to a remarkable truth.

As for terrorism (invented in the dawn of man) or communism (Marx's manifesto was published eleven years before Origins) ...
