  • Please I am very much interested in the machines to produce cement tiles. Please anyone or company with such information should contact me at or oko96@yahoo.com. I am very much familiar with this process, my family used to manufacture these until late 1990s. A lot of imports started coming into the country and the business died.Because how durable this tiles are people are beginning to ask about it.I want start producing this again. I will highly appreciate anyone who can contact me ASAP. Thanks

  • OMG it is so great to hear from you! I am mixing 1 part pigment- 10 cement - 2 silica. So do I mix 1 pigment - 8 cement - 4 silica? You are such a BLESSING.

  • Istill can't make the tile come off.First I used lineseed oil and keroses.did not work.now I have been told to use flaxseed oil and diesel.I am also using plasiticizer in the water to mix the pigment layer.WHAT AM I DOING WRONGE????????????????HELP!!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!

  • @nanadede1952 add some sand to the color mix . It should help keep pouring in a little at a time until they come loose easily...

  • Posted March 2, 2010. The man must be dead by now. Did you notice the circumstances he is working in... destroying his live making tiles..... for who? You? Shame on you for buying stuff produced in that way. No way this is in a western country.

  • @0892872841 I did it for ten years in San Antonio Texas. What 'cured" me was 9-11 and all those businessmen with concrete dust all over their clothes... remember?!?! I looked like that every day for twelve years.

  • Pleas tell me what you us to make the tile slip off? PLEASE

  • i HAVE READ SOMEWHERE THEY USED TO WIPE DIESEL ON THE PLATE. WHAT IS USED NOW?

  • But I see them rubbing something on the plate what is that?

  • @nanadede1952 They often sprinkle cement on top to absorb any water.

  • What is used so the tile comes off the plate?

What is the difference between second and final layer?

  • @nanadede1952 The middle layer mixture is designed to absorb water from the pattern later. The final layer (back of tile) has slightly larger aggregate and less ability to absorb water.

  • What is used so the tile comes off the plate?

  • @nanadede1952 The tile rests on a steel plate and is formed on the sides by a tile 'frame' which is also made of steel. The frame is unbolted and removed. The tile slides off the steel plate easily.

  • You're right. Thank you very much!

  • Thank you very much for the prompt reply! I live very far away and think I will have to find a person to make the molds here (Greece) but I didn't know what his/her expertise should be. Bronze would do as well?

  • @koritsakimou The tile is hydraulically pressed and bronze does not have the strength to withstand those pressures.

  • @AventeTile The molds "stencil" is not pressed with the tile It is pulled out beofre the tile is dusted and formed. the raw linseed and keroscene on the face plate "set" the colors and keep them from running. A Tile guy in san antonio texas...

  • Thank you very much for this very informative video. I would like to ask you, where could I find this kind of molds? Can I make them or ask them to be made by some expert? of what are they made?

  • @koritsakimou Molds are made from steel and created by the tile manufacturer after line drawings of the entire pattern are completed. We can have molds created using the pattern you provide and then create the cement tiles.

  • Glad you liked the video and thanks for your comments. We agree and hope to improve this video and other that we will be adding by including captions, annotations and/or audio explanations as a next step.

  • Nice! This is a great video that shows all the steps to make cement tile, by real artisans. I wish there was sound or captions though!
