I've never heard of this pianist until today. He's going to be playing a chopin concert in Los Angeles on March 2010. Huge fan of chopin, so ill be there for sure.
i've never liked chopin this much; i always thought him boring and most of his pieces having the same structure and little variation. but now, after seeing this video, i realize how much emotion is in his works. :) thanks
i'm playing for my church in a couple weeks as a part of the "youth sunday" deal, and i have a couple bach pieces, and i think i might add this first mazurka.
Emanuel Ax is now one of my top pianists by this film. I like this location, too. I think it works well.

Parts of this sound similar to his waltz in C# minor.

Ax has performed Chopin's Ballades stunningly, better than I've heard elsewhere by a good margin.

You have no idea of the beauty you have missed....Chopin is beyond any other composer that's ever graced this earth...his music is ethereal

thanks:)
Chopin must part of his largeness to the fact that his style does'nt have precedence neither will come continued from nobody, it's unique!
He lives in France but He's Polish, and sings the distance from its native land.
If you listen Chopin deeply, I am sure that you will be able to discover something of beautifulst.....
