the only way i think you could use that to boil water is with using a tripod have it dangled just out of the flames reach like how you boil water using plastic k pop bottles
Lifeline's products scare the hell out of me. They have a full line of kits, from pocket sized to backpack kits with 72 hours of supplies. REI sells them, as do other legitimate retailers, and all of their stuff is absolute junk. They build knock-offs of other popular kits, and undercut the prices with poor quality contents. I feel bad for the people who buy this stuff and actually have to use it. It could literally cost you your life. Pay the extra money and get a kit you can depend on.
great unboxing/reveiw, pro and cons of the kit, i think that MT is smaller than the Squirt( i have the PS4 outstanding MT) but slightly bigger than the Micra, most kits could be improved, many thanks for posting take care mate.
Well, I ended up paying around $7 (shipping was stupid) for that whistle so at least youve got that and the case itself for whatever you paid. Hopefully not to much!
@surviveTHEtimes yeah i agree, you could pay 20 dollars for something a little better then that, but if you make your own you could make 20 times betterfor maybe a few dollars
And maybe I would also consider not buying the kit at all and spend the initial money on a clear Otterbox which is crushproof and waterproof. Seriously, why would anyone scrimp on a survival kit? If you are bothering to get a kit at all, you want to rely on it in the worse of conditions. Thanks for dissing this piece of crap!
Maybe at $11, I would buy the kit and use the container to make a real survival kit and toss most of the rest (except the tea candle). I'd put in a Leatherman Squirt (one of the new models with both pliers and scissors), photon microlight + spare batteries which don't take up room, lifeboat matches, bandanna, hair bands, replace lanyard on whistle with real paracord, either a mini-bic or a peanut lighter from County Comm, trick (relighting) birthday candle, asprin + immodium, mini-razor blade
@mrmonkeyman50 See, and that's exactly what I thought it included. A quick glance over the contents and you get pretty hopeful but it's not until you actually unbox it that you see it's 'quality.' I like your content list! ~Mike
The Letherman juice is 2-3 times thicker and maybe twice the length. Its much heaver. How much did this Kit cost? A $3 ferro bar from harbor freight would have been better for starting fires. What no water perf tablets? A $9 water bottle survival kit would be better
Thanks for the no B.S review ! Though many try to make good kits , alot fall short. I find making my own , and taking all the good ideas out there and mixing them together works the best for me
I've never done rock climbing but I know that just one carabiner (even if it is 7 kilonewton test) isn't really sufficient for any kind of repelling or rescue. Most rock climbers carry anywhere between a half dozen to a dozen. I suppose you could use the single carabiner to suspend a back pack or ice chest from a tree branch to prevent bears from getting to your food but that's about it.
@Diopterman@ComradeGeneralK said it best. We take a look at a variety so that way you can make an educated decision yourself. Just be glad it's now your money! Haha! ~Mike
I do not recommend buying a pre-made survival kit.
Generally, they are low cost because the components are low quality. If the time comes that you need to utilize a survival kit you will want a kit with quality items not the junk that is in this kit. Stay away from the Lifeline Weatherproof Pocket Survival Kit. Build your own kit that you can rely on when needed.
I don't know why anyone would/should but a pre-assembled survival kit like this. They are almost always useless and actually harmful if you pack it around thinking you're prepared. Make your own. It is super easy, probably no more expensive and you know exactly what you have in it, I know it could be argued it is better than nil, but I don't think so. Nonsense. BTW that is more like a leatherman micra. The juice is much bigger but still considered compact.
i made a better kit with an altoid can

Where can I get one of those?
MegaBigdog666 1 year ago
@MegaBigdog666 although it's cheap, you shouldn't buy this survival kit. there are many other good ones, or you can make your own
(find one at sporting goods stores)

The Juice is a little bigger, same with the Squirt. You might be thinking of the Micra (which is awesome)

Thanks for the review! Would it be possible in the end of this series for you to make your own kit, and tell what you would put in it?
