NO its not.. Strip comes from the the T-Bone as you might know, what you dont know is that a Sirloin comes from the round which is a totally different cut, if you remove the cap off of a Top Sirloin you can cut it into what is known as Sirloin strips ( most people reffer to it plainly as cap steaks ) thus they are not the same and you are a god damn boner bitting retard.
Listen people I shit you not...I watched this guys clip and took his advice on how to cook a medium rare steak...Let me tell you it works everytime..It comes out perfect...But the only thing I do different from him is, I put the steak on at 400 degrees....
Seems to me that was a New York steak, not sirloin, and it looked a bit burnt to me, not to mention he didn't let the meat "rest" for a few minutes before cutting into it. Right idea though.
This must be some native way to cook steaks. You don't let flames touch a steak unless you want it burnt black. Americans don't eat burnt black "crust" on their steaks.
He didn't lie, he was grilling a piece of perfect sirloin steak, he wasn't talking about the way he grilled it. Or else it would have been titled "how to perfectly grill a sirloin steak" :D
its whats on the inside that counts....lol....sike....inside looked good but i cook steaks all day and you CAN MAKE THE INSIDE AS PRETTY AS THE OUTSIDE
Why must men make fools of them selves trying to show off for the other 'boys' by using ridiculously bad language regarding how to cook a steak. OK guys, we are all very impressed with your knowledge of the 'F'-word and all the other swearing we've been gifted by reading your comments today. Yea, you know how to
@Inv4derxXx ...What? By searing you lose so much water weight. And tissue tightening does not lead to "holding in flavor" No science book will tell you that.
@MansoorDorp uhhh yeah it does sear the tissue shut, i'm going to school for medical sciences, i have a very good grasp on burns, the only way you lose water weight from searing, is if the tissue is alive. dead tissue being seared is like heating plastic, it tightens and holds what ever is in it
@MansoorDorp medical science = food science, you are working with tissue, it reacts the same way as if it would act as if it were on a dead mammal, and if you want to get molecular with the water being lost, its just the H20 being lost, not the spices inside
Dude burnt the steak on the first side. Right idea, wrong execution. Those you can do, those who can't teach. He is trying to teach. Wrong cut of meat description too.
@dwdesign charred steaks providing it is thick is the way to go. i love the charred taste with a medium rare inside. learn how to cook you noob ba cook
I go highest heat for 3 min a side, prefer a cast iron grill on a bbq, then I transfer it to the oven pre-heated to 300 for desired doneness. About 5 min in the oven for medium.
What a hack.... that steak is burnt to hell and back. I like my steaks rare and juicy, not tough and crunchy. He's an executive chef? Where? Burger King?
as a 17 yr old chef... common sense would say the outside of the steak will go darker before the inside cooks through and he might have some herbs etc which could go dark... so its not bunt.... i dont cook steak where i work so im no expert....
@donnieboy123 It's utterly a matter of taste. I've had countless steaks cooked exactly like this one in the video and it was extremely delicious. Perfect amount of crunch and the juice flows the flavour.
@royalstarfish17 I guess you're right, but I would have to scratch off the surface. I'm convinced it would produce black powder. I do agree with many here that I think it was a tad too much heat on the surface... in fact it could be still very raw inside... not well balanced heat penetration... or?
@TheComment123 No, aged steaks are still bloody, strip is sirloin @ ardwulfslair , new york cut is also sirloin @ wirikuta, lol is not a full stop or period polzowatel, learn English before posting. The sirloin steak cooked here is of restaurant quality for medium rare grilled beef and 5/5 rating from me, another qualified chef. Those hayseed hill-billies cooking up road-kill who disagree, need to get out more.
@slauertura77 Yes, the outside was, which adds a crusty flavor to the interior. When you combine that burned surface with the interior juicy part, you get a perfectly tasty steak. Much better than if you didn't burn the surface. Give it a try.
Looking for that Perfect grill? I have a Review site for finding the Grill for your BBQ dreams! Recipes, tips and Tricks are included.. come to: w w w .grillemupreviews.0fees.net
For those of you that don't want to guess, but still want a perfect steak.
Season how you wish
Very hot grill..... just long enough to sear the outside...
Then quickly take the meat into a preheated 500 degree oven, (or move it away from the direct flame) put in an electronic meat thermometer, cook the meat to about 125 degrees. (for me) take it off and let it rest.
Plate the rest of your food..... then back on the FLAME for 30 seconds just to make it sizzle as you serve.
Closing the grill would create an oven effect wouldn't it? It wouldn't be grilling would it? I know they work with flame broil ovens at those fancy restaurants, so they can cook those steaks within minutes... Anyway, I think the steak is perfectly done...
@dapletd You clearly have no clue on how to cook a good steak, this chef's tips are just correct and painless, and it's not burnt outside, nor raw inside. First of all, it looks red inside because he didn't let it rest so it would be quicker to film it. You just don't know how to cook.
@celticircle Um, I've always been curious, back In school I was taught never to leave food in the 'danger area' (room-tempature-ish) for more then necessary, defiantly not 2 hours, yet he said to take it out for at LEAST 2 hours? Which is the more correct thing to do, and why?
@HARDCORESKELETORN That's wrong. I wouldn't leave it out UNCOVERED for a few hours, but if it's in the packaging, wrapped in plastic wrap or in a Ziploc bag, there won't be an issue. But don't leave it overnight or anything.
@mvallin As you can see from what I posted people are both complaining that the steak is both undercooked and overcooked, which makes little to no sense.

@MansoorDorp basic science says that when a severe burn happens to muscle the tissue tightens, therefore holding in flavor
