The Tucson Lutheran Church choir has an excellent reputation and I have sung in choir festivals where they have also participated and enjoyed their choral interpretation. A little constructive criticism, if I might, get out of the music a little more and let your faces reflect the glory of the music.
We're singing it in my choir and we take it just as fast, It's an extreamly hard song to take as slow as it's supposed to be. I know, I'm a soprano and to take it as slow as it's written is like impossible. But I agree with you. It's just really hard so I can understand why they did it that way.
we sang four movements from gloria in our choir concert:gloria, et in terra pax, domine fili, cum sancto spiritu. and this one is prob my fave. its gorgeous. im obsessed
One important note: the Cum Sancto Spiritu movement from RV 589 is actually a modified version of the same movement from a Gloria in Vivaldi's library (RV Anh. 23) by Giovanni Maria Ruggieri. A recording by Robert King and the King's Consort of RV Anh. 23 exists - check it out, RV Anh. 23's awe-inspiring.
Qui tollis peccáta mundi, súscipe deprecatiónem nostram. Qui sedes ad déxteram Patris, miserére nobis. Quóniam tu solus Sanctus. Tu solus Dóminus, Tu solus Altíssimus, Jesu Christe, Cum Sancto Spíritu in glória Dei Patris. Amen.

I really enjoy this song. It may sound weird comming from someone who is only 17 but it really has a mysterious air to it.

Don't worry, I'm the same age as you and I love this movement

Almost makes church worth going to. Fantastic for amateurs.

i think this version of et in terra should have more intention and strenght
skarlita19 4 years ago
Agreed. The opening sounds a far too bland and proud orchestra - and an awful choral rendition with far too much vibrato.
DannyDaWriter 4 years ago
There pretty good. I prefer this movement to sound a little more mysterious, but this is very good.
