This is kinda precious. We'll never be hearing him play again...neither Luke Kelly. Great to see that nice vids keep them alive -or at least the memories and their songs- on here
@LuckyLukeHogan Ronnie Drew, (singing here) Luke Kelly, Ciaran Bourke, Barney McKenna and John Sheahan are generally thought of as the original Dubliners, though the line up has changed over the years, with various members going, and coming back again, and new members appearing as and when. Ronnie, Ciaran and Luke have all left us. RIP
@kevvy1908, first I love irish music, furcoat means, i loved a turkish girl, her has been Bahar in english spring, i loved her, but she wears a very expensive furcoat, at this time a bad signal for me, i had been divorced before.
I am not able to fully understand or translate your comment. The fur-coat and the Dreamwoman are too much for my schoolboy German.
@kevvy1908 Sorry for my bad english-skills. In the main he just said, that the dubliners seem to live forever and he saw them in berlin 30 years ago. And he thinks they are still playing good.
Ronnie had one of those voices like Johnny Cash or Freddy Mercury where whenever you hear them sing, it makes you believe they were born to sing. RIP, Ronnie, from your biggest American fan.
RIP dearest old Ronnie you will be genuinely missed and the whole which you have now lef tin irish music will most definately be felt and one other thing that is certain is that your legend will live on forever and the music you have made will bring joy to the ears of listeners for generations to come!!...
As a musician from Ireland in Ireland I have to be hoenst and say I was never a fan of irish trad music but this man...when I heard he died...I was struck with shock and a deep sadness...the man was down to earth and all the good things we Irish pride ourselves on...I will miss you Ronnie...another part of our souls has died...
God bless Ronnie, thanks for great music for all them years, never forget you, thoughts are with your loved ones at this sad time, your music will go on and pick us up when we are sad. xx
I think the pics and sound are out of sync, suspect the crowd noise, and probably sound system were not helping. - Maybe he (Mike Hanrahan)was having an Off Day?
That was a great day. I went to Ronnie Scott Jazz Club later that day for another St Patrick's concert. Ronnie Drew was in the audience and was persuaded to get on stage for a couple of songs.
Thank you for this wonderful upload

I Think that's (ex Stockton's Wing) Mike Hanrahan, who was supporting Ronnie on his "Ronnie I hardly Knew You" tours around that time.
