@Vacmasterthegreat Err... brake fluid should be changed roughly every 90,000kms, or preferably every two years. It gets dirty. Moisture gets in. Affects brake performance and stuff. It's a fluid, and like other fluids, is a part of regular maintenance. Just so you know: it's a safety issue :)

p.s. $70 isn't that bad for a job where one hour of labor is usually charged and labor averages at more than $100 per hour.

@Vacmasterthegreat It is a closed system, but so are the others, or else you'd have leaks :) But over time, fluids break down, lose their original strength and need to be replaced for both safety and longevity of your car's life (especially engine oil, obviously). Brake fluid is supposed to be clear and slightly yellowish (like urine) and I've seen it black. And the dirt is the least of your worries: moisture is the killer. Seriously compromises the brake system if not maintained.
