@lmcneice besides its not the time that matters. 0-60 time is mostly a matter of getting a good start which obviously Quattro helps with. but once you're moving the car will feel slow because 4.2 liter is just too small for a car that size. that's why BMW uses turbos and mercedes uses larger displacement - because they don't want to be slow like Audi.

This is not a sportscar, it's a full size saloon car and it's not meant to be extremely fast, it's meant to be comfortable, and fast (enough) to pass almost anything, and with a 0-60 time of 5.1 seconds, I don't know who you're lying to; yourself, or everyone here.

Dude, you don't buy an A8 for being fast, but for having a luxury sedan. For being fast 92.700+ Euros should be invested in another car.
Also Mercedes and BMW do not offer Diesels with more then 3 Litres so 4.2 litres seems pretty much to me!
And if you go for petrol: There is also the S8 with 4.0 litres plus Turbocharger and the A8 W12 with 6 litres.
