That "disrespectful outburst" was clearly motivated by a deep respect for the Professor.
Not too clear why the two featured comments are so antagonistic and puritanical. I love maths too. It's possible to love maths and also have a sense of humour, no?
I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're not a graduate of the college, and if you are, you should have more respect for your school. This is what we do and who we are at MIT, and if you have a problem with that, go find your own Spartan warrior to rape. Multivariable calculus is no laughing matter, especially as an MIT course, and if you haven't been in the class, you don't know how hard it is. So basically, stop disrespecting something you know nothing about. Thank you.
ignore him. dr. auroux is a brilliant teacher and i taught myself advance multivariable calculus from his OCW lectures ahead of the my math GRE. more power to him and good on MIT for sharing the material!
sorry to disappoint but MIT isn't some super crazy think tank for child prodigies
it's just a college. sure it happens to be a college for smart kids who may or may not have had love affairs with Physics I in the past, but it's still a college
It's things like these that make me fall more and more in love with the idea of attending MIT. :)

While so many want to be there and can't, you disrespect your professor this way. This is just pitfull.

If these students don't already know this stuff then they don't even deserve to be at MIT.
Furthermore, Auroux should give some ol' fashioned Greek lovin' to that delicate Spartan warrior for pulling off such a silly stunt.
