Nice edit Geoff. Most Accucrafts I have seen seem to waste a huge amount of steam from the safety valves; whether this is from a too high gas valve setting or is a design characteristic I don't know. Ben
The boiler on this pre-production model was designed and built by Dick Abbot, and is a prodigious steam-maker as you can see. The burners will no doubt have to be sorted out and we are all living with great expectations from this model - already said to be the best steamer that Accucraft have built so far. there is another short clip of it running at Diamondhead with the train of Alan Wright's cars, like the ones you see here.
I forgot to mention that THIS prototype model is NOT gas-fired, that was less than effective, so Dick Abbot built a new alcohol-fired boiler in ten days. THIS is the version that will go into production.
Limited edition of 150 Gauge 1 by Accucraft for delivery in summer 07. The 'whistle', BTW, is the safety valves blowing off. Bob Weltyk's excellent whistle was not available until the Diamondhead show.
Cars from Alan Wright around US$600 each. Loco is around US$4500, mostly sold out.

Is this engine still in production? I saw it on the Accucraft website but I saw somewhere that it was a limited deal.
