I love how, even without the lyrics, you can hear the suspicion and attitude and frustration in the guitar/bass riff. Bring the lyrics back into play, and this song REALLY speaks to you. Even if you haven't been cheated on (or just didn't realize it lol), you can feel where he's coming from. Damn good music... They don't make it like this anymore, and it's a shame...

Without the things of their lives I don't think they could've made such GREAT music. That's my opinion which I'm free to voice according to US law; so you can keep it moving.

@DARIUSSR612 I'm glad Bill is your family fantastic tell him I said hello I'm a fan (which means I EXCEPT THE GOOD & THE BAD), but being an artist myself I happen to know that having talent is just one ingredient but not the main one to get a record deal cause we all know plenty of artist who have record deals and don't have talent or who have talent and don't have record deals. Also I never said that the life experiences were the only things that made the artist I said it "helped" to make them.

whenever i ask someone if they've heard of Bill Withers they say no, then i start to list some of his hits like Lean on me, Use me, Lovely Day, Aint no Sunshine when she's gone, Just the two of us, Who is he and what is he to you,and Grandma's hands, then they say " Oh, i know all of those songs. I didn't know he sung them" so when i think of Bill Withers i think of the only artist whos songs are more famous than his name!!!
