@metronomic1 I think we've had a misunderstanding. All I meant was I haven't been around people who use that word, so I don't really know what connotation it's been given. And anyway, I don't feel the need to be part of a scene, but it'd be interesting to get a taste of it. I don't have anything to get over, I'm not riled up or devastated about anything. I do enjoy the music, very much :D

I just always took "baby bat" as almost a term of endearment for younger goths, but perhaps I misinterpreted it and it's an insult? Was I foolish to not be insulted? There aren't any goths where I live, so no one ever bitterly called me a baby bat. I really wouldn't know the appropriate reaction =/

I never took it offensively, I mean, everyone has to go through the "noob" stage until they learn the ropes. I'm not calling you one though, just to be clear. I think it's a better word for young goths more than "noobs." Thoughts?

Hey! I'm a young gothy type and I like the cure, LOVE bauhaus (that peter murphy-super fine in his day ;) and I've heard several other (REAL) goth bands so don't assume there aren't young goths who actually know what it is to be goth. They're just not so common, and harder to find because they don't hang out in front of Hot Topic.

Fun fact: Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Rozz Williams and many other "real goths" actually disliked the goth culture. And I can't blame them. Rozz wasn't actually very fond of the "deathrock" either

Now if we're talking about the little mall goths who have their heads up the butts and talk about the newest Cradle Of Filth album I say we just get rid of them. I really think if you're going to use a term you better know its real definition.

I was thinking of this song because of all the flowers being sent for Mother's Day. It's sort of twisted that we show affection for mothers by sending dead plants in a box that was made from a dead tree. This is truly a classic song.
