  • The second monster is pretty funny.

  • I still love this show. I have a huge cutaway poster of a transporter Eagle up on my wall, and I grin whenever I see shots of someone's amazingly detailed Eagle model kit.

...but goddamn, Moonbase Alpha really, really needed Ultraman's help there.

  • 0:41 My Mother In Law.

  • @Iamcromagnon LOL!

  • As a kid i can ALWAYS remember 2 episodes..

1 had monsters at 1.08 and 1.15 (I think) and another chasing someone over a desert.

2 A bright light shone into a space capsule and scanned everyones face - not sure why.

Both were very frightening. Now they look ridiculous. Kids today would laugh at them!!!

  • What episode is the image from 0:25 from?

  • Space 1999 actually has a very big following. If anyone knows where I can get an Eagle from Dinky toys let me know. ( besides Ebay)

  • Alot of these "monsters" were actually Maya transformations.

  • I loved Space 1999! I watched the show as a very young child 4 to 6 yrs old and what's funny is that I remember most of these monster characters very well; I loved the chick with the funky eyebrows who transformed into animals, etc. I'm 40 now and it's great to see others who remember and appreciate the memories of Space 1999 with me. Thx for the video.

  • 1:19 Jim Morrison!

  • I agree with NormKirk and WarRogers. I still feel a little bit queasy seeing this monster again for the first time in over 30 years.

  • I seem to remember a bit of a glam rock feel to the later episodes with Brian Blessed looking like a runaway from Roxy Music in one episode.

  • The beings from "Bringers of Wonder" look like the Monty Python blancmange creatures from the planet Skyron, covered with the pumped stomach contents from a spaghetti feed

  • My favourites are the ones at 0:28 & 0:31, someone must have gone out & bought loads of seaweed from somewhere!

  • my freek was 0,30/0,31/0,32...ı was so afraid that ı used to sleep wıth mom,then..

  • The one @ 1:52 scared me so much as a kid that I never watched the show again .. never forgot it either. Thanks for posting

  • Same with me! I was 10 years old when I first saw that and Dragon's Domain !

  • The monsters weren't the best point of this show, but the one eyed nasties of Dragon's Domain and Bringer's of Wonder were pretty damn cool! The more humanoid aliens were usually best...nice to see scortched Zoref included! He was scary! :)

    Ade

  • exelente!!!!

  • Thanks.

  • a ver que te parece el mio....good look.

  • 1:56 I think I remember that you had to stab it in the big white eye to kill it or you get sucked in and spit out as a skeleton. I was a horrififed little kid! Tooooo funny. Wish they would bring it back. Be fun to watch again!

  • Thx!

  • omggg I remember that episode. I want to watch it now. :)

  • @bottomfeederbrodie me too scared the shit out of me.

  • @bottomfeederbrodie hahahahaha.....that episode scared the crap out of me too!!! I can remember watching it at home with my little sister.....both of us had nightmares for weeks!!!

  • Of course, this was before technology improved upon the creation of sci-fi monsters. Back then I did find the monstrosities of Space 1999 impressive and sometimes scary (especially the energy monster from the episode FORCE OF LIFE). My favourite monster was the one-eyed Giant Squid-like creature from DRAGON'S DOMAIN, another scary episode. Cheers to Space 1999's monsters.

  • They were so cheap that they had to reuse many of the costumes.00.51 was salvaged from the BETA CLOUD episode.01:15 looks like he has 2 pieces of sweetbread covering his eyes.Sad!!

  • Ha ha yes, they really suck.

  • What a sad joke these things are.I can't believe I actually liked this show as a kid.Season 1 was not bad though.

  • I saw this series at about age 9 and was scared to death!

    Hard to belive...

  • Has anyone else noticed the white plastic desk lamps which originally appeared on 2001, A Space Odyssey?

  • Looks funny now, but as a 5 year old in the 70's awesome stuff :)

  • The dude at 1:22 looks as if someone stuck some Play Doh onto his eye.

  • 1:18 Charles Manson?

  • LOL.

  • Good thing you did not do the monsters of Doctor Who otherwise it would last for hours!

  • Dust bunny monster at 1:07!!!

  • MOST of these lame-looking monsters came from season 2 when the series took a decided turn for the worse.

  • Cheesball costumes and Saarinen-esue furniture...a great combo.

  • Most of these are Maya transformations. Yeah, I'm a geek.

  • Some, but not most. Yeah, Im also a geek!...

    Thanks Kirkenbunken!

  • The only reason I watched was because of the Eagles and Maya. Catherine Von Schellenberg Schell) was the star attraction because she was an exotic metamorph (an earlier version of ODO from Deep Space Nine,...) fans all over the world should be writing to the powers that be and request a comeback version. I would love to see a new version of Maya the Dorcan. If Battlestar Galactica can do it then anything is possible,...

  • What's the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz doing at 1.11? Where's his hat? Love the theme music!

  • I've seen some uninspired monsters in my time but this takes the cake! Good thing I was only a kid when this came out. I do remember the 'blobs' at 0:30.

  • Ah, except for the monster from "Dragon's Domain", most of these beasties are liking to a japanses type sci-fi one. Especially the one @ 1:05. That thingy looks like ultra man!

  • Yes dragons domain scared the hell out of me. Still the best episode they made. Yum yum eat em up!!!

  • much different to see now...love it as a kid..favourite of mine

  • Almost all the monsters are from second season.... so we can understand because there wasn't a third season....

  • New from Spishtronics, it's the "Characters-who-died-gruesome-deaths-on-'Space: 1999' VS. The 'Star Trek' security guards" Chess Set! What better way to say "I have no taste whatsoever!"

  • Christ the King!!!! I was wondering where my mother-in-was last summer and now i....nahh , skip it

  • a childhood fave !! :o)
