I'm old enough to have seen Chess where this is sung by 2 women. In '89 I heard Elaine Paige's duet, in the early '90s Whitney & Cissy Houston sang this duet as a gospel song & many duets of this song since.

This was the 1st time I have ever heard 2 men sing this & as much as I loved the other versions I've seen & heard I have to honestly say that this was the BEST version I've ever heard. It had just the right blend of pop (from Daniel's voice) & WestEnd/Broadway from John. Beautiful.

@aussielaurence Hi there - it's on John Barrowman's CD "Music, Music, Music" (this duet and also a solo version by JB) and there's also a DVD - "An Evening With John Barrowman" from a concert tour with Daniel Boys where they perform this. I think it's also available on iTunes and you can also check Dress Circle Showbiz Shop in London as they ship worldwide. There is no DVD though of this particular live concert at Faenol Festival as far as I know. Hope that helps :)

Man I love this duet. Now THIS is the best duet EVER. It's very authentic, it's LIVE, there's no playback, they supported every note with air, and best of all they NAILED every note. John didn't slide down the scale when he sang "Well" while Daniel was singing "it took time to understand him", and Daniel absolutely NAILED those high Soprano 2 notes when they were singing "Why am I falling apart?". Such a musically beautiful performance! As previously stated, BEST. DUET. EVER. <3

Love how John goes on shows like Lloyd Webber's and if he genuinely likes someone and admires their talent he stays in touch. He becomes their friend, supports them and collaborates with them. It's not just about a TV show for him and i think that's lovely. He did the same with Jodie Prenger, both Jodie and Daniel are amazing on their own but they are also lucky the have found such a loyal friend :-)
