one key u lack in DF is the concept of creativity..which is one of the basic concepts art is based from..they are merely fast guitar players that play catchy stuff..musically and creatively DF is a really basic band..cynic on the other hand has the ideas of individualism and even spiritualism that ties in with the musical thought..the arrangements of the songs are unique but played out greatly..they are artists

Theart works for them...not too many power metal singers play an instrument. The demands that power metal places on a vocalist, usually require that the guy had been singing pretty much his whole life...usually guys like that don't pick up an instrument. So you're saying if you can't play guitar (or Bass I suppose) and sing at the same time you don't have skills? I think that dragon force is a lot simpler to conceptualise. It's all natural minor/ Aeolian mode stuff. There's a great deal more creativity gone into Cynic. Not only is the approach to the song writing more complex but the actual approach to the instrument. It's a lot easier to practice a Dragon force riff or solo, granted it may take you a longer to get it perfect to the record but this approach is like weight lifting. Anyone can lift weights.
