Fracking awesome. Just played through the tutorial and two historical battles of the demo and I have to say, I am impressed. The sea battle especially was visually astonishing, I'm surprised my computer survived it without exploding. Its was pretty likely that Russia would have taken over much more of Europe without the USA but Britain, due to the RAF was not going to be invaded any time soon. The end would have been slower but the result would have most likely have been the same.

If you type up Empire Total War on Wikipedia, look at the picture, more specifically, the rating. It's a TBC placed over an M rating. Does that mean this game could be rated M?

Instead of making gay trailers like this one, why don't CA actually focus on making the game. So far ALL of their games had bugs and requiered at least 2-3 patches to be smooth. They always release their games before completing them to meet "deadlines" and earn cash for the holidays.

why not longer! by the way this looks alot like the opening scene for master and commander. the midshipman spots a ship throught his telescope by going left and right but unlike this he calls for the captain. jus looking at this gets me excited! btw the game is coming out january or febuary 2009. jus looked at the wesite for the details :(

Thats why its called a teaser. Ottoman Empire and Spain are going to be massive but erroding like the Britons in Medieval 2 expansion. Britain, France and Russia will be the emerging darlings.

it would not be offensive- so long as it is not glorified and realistically depicts the brutality of the slave trade. i think people will appreciate it, just like people appreciate a movie which gratuitisly depicts crime against humanity in history- such as the movie "The Pianist" or "Schnidlers List" or "Roots".

I've been on the ETW forums, looks like this is just teh first of a few teasers, but it's not the final trailer. Ad yeah it does look like a rip off of Age of Empires, in the movies at least, the graphics are supposed to be a lot better than AOE.

KillTV is right, people have been ripping off AOE3 all the time, even History ripped it off back in the time of the american colonisation, that entire point in history was just a cheap knock-off of the allmighty originality that is aoe3, and whats with the medieval period? that was clearly taken entirely from aoe2, why can't history come up with it's own ideas rather than copying them from games that haven't even been invented yet?

The expansion probably has something to do with napoleon ;) without expansion in the end of the game u can hire him to your artillery unit in corsica. But yah its probably expansion.. theres always expansions! thats how they make more money.

i pray that they have the good old fashiond land battles on empire total war and that the entire game isnt focused around ships else the game will be absolutely horrible i hope that in the next trailer it shows ground battles and the seige of some city.

Uh... How about ragdoll effect on ALL soldiers, with their corpses lying around the whole battle and being thrown around by impacting grenade and cannon shells? Read 'bout what they're doing to land battles and you won't worry no more.

Instead of making gay trailers like this one, why don't CA actually focus on making the game. So far ALL of their games had bugs and requiered at least 2-3 patches to be smooth. They always release their games before completing them to meet "deadlines" and earn cash for the holidays.

hmm No napoleon, which mean no imperialism and no industrialization. Napoleon war might mostly shown in Europe and some other area. Im sure if they add Napoleon after American Revolution events it can mess up the campaign. France help American when they fight for revolution. Then France decide to want Revolution and want to overthrow the leader. This spark Reign of terror and French Revolution. When it stop, Napoleon became leader. Napoleon only conquer Europe Territo. (Sorry if I am wrong).

yes, you are a bit off with time issues,
but it could have problem if the split germany into the diferents mini countries that now is germany... for example it will be lovely to see the prussian france war
and also the russian and prussian conflict.
in which the other napoleon (there had been 2 napoleons that were emperors of france) would have a tremendous role

might not only be in napoleon era. Let see, 180 to 19 century. That Napoleon era, British American War era, and Maybe Imperialist and Industrialization Era. Napoleon havent got to Africa or Far East so I guess it is not only Napoleon.
