  • This song made me reinstall Deus Ex (the original)..

  • @Jynx0208 Well it wouldn't make you want to reinstall Invisible War, would it?

  • He looks like wesker from resident evil. no joke ^^^

  • I look at modern shooters and think "what a shame"

  • I'm not big into books.

  • The said thing is the Modern gaming is so shitty compare to the good old days (Deus ex, Half life, System shock 2, Might and Magic, Ultima, homeworld........)

  • it's like a dubstep before there was even a dubstep

  • @CorRomeister Na. Streets of Rage 3 was like Dubstep before Dubstep.

  • Damn this is amazing.

  • I see nobody mention 1:03 when its the best part of the entire track

  • @TheDemoniccarmine I don't know. I always felt that instrument doesn't really mesh with the rest of the track.

  • alright, I haven't played this game yet, should i get the PC version or the console version?

  • @Powerslave226 PC. It has better controls and the areas are much more in depth. Either way the game is a masterpiece, but most people prefer the PC version.

  • @TheDemoniccarmine thanks man, i'll get right on it!

  • Just amazing Tune

  • Ce Theme quoi !

  • Awesome track.

  • Every time I travel to Asia, I play this as I walk through the streets.

  • Deus ex 2 is a stupid and ridiculous sequel not even worth it the name Deus ex.

Deus ex 1 is unequal and Deus ex 3 even though its an awesome game is completly different from deus ex 1

  • @scorpionoise DX:HR is decend prequel. Much of its differences can be attributed to the differend method of augmenting. Only problem i had with HR was its futuristic feel, it was more futuristic than DX1, whitch is weird on many lvls. Still, its design was good.

  • Are there any similar Chinese traditional/modern songs like this that combines ancient style of music with this modern beats? I can't seem to find anything like this

  • @TheMasterYS CC General China Battle theme

  • love smoking up and listening to this... awesome song

  • makes me cry;( the game..song..everything about this game is just so EPIC!!

  • 1:39

  • So, was this game good or something?

  • @spanio amazing.

  • this game is AWESOME and brings back so many memories !!! :(

  • um goi je guo!

  • Why does Kanbei from Advance Wars come into my head when I hear this?

    Oh wait...

  • I wonder if the music in Human Revolution is like this game's. Only one way to find out!

  • " You just made your last mistake, homeboy. "

  • @iEnjoiPooping I always enjoyed beating the living crap out of those two drug dealers down by the canal

  • I can tell them you're a spy, and they will kill you!

  • this song screams 90`s to me

  • The quality of this video is augmented...

  • KING K WUZ HERE 2011

  • That song is totally badass

  • Epic bad-assery

  • cool wesker lol

  • Don't know why, but it reminds me of Ace Attorney in some parts. Or it has a feel that reminds me of it.

  • First thing you hear with this music: "Many fine restaurants buy their meats from me."

  • Wait, doesn't this sound exactly like something from Phoenix Wright or something. I swear to god I've heard a part of this song in a DS game.

  • I have played Deus Ex 3 and it is very good. All is well.

  • mistah denton, in da fresh

  • Classic. I like to listen to this while doing business in EVE Online hisec. Goes well with a bustling hub of commerce.

  • Wow SupraDarky, I had no idea you were into such great gaming music... honestly I've been looking through this whole list and you're gaming music tastes are uncannily like mine, Deus Ex was one of the games I played growing up, it's probably one of the best FPS's I played at that time, simply because of its innovation... no other game had tried to link RPGesqe-like features like roleplay decisios making and stat boosts in any other game.

Roll on Deus Ex - Human Revolution!

  • i dont think i will play mass effect 100+ times(and counting) like i have played deus ex ....juss dont.

  • @frankDPW I'll say this I like BOTH games Deus Ex is one of the best games of all times, and Mass Effect is a great RPG.

  • @Gamer1990100 thank you for being intelligent

  • @Gamer1990100

They are both in the list of my favourite games, along with Epic Megagames games such as Jazz Jackrabbit (2) and Tyrian.

  • @Gamer1990100 someone is talking sense. IMO I think Deus Ex has something to say. ME, I don't know. Great games both of them though, and we should be glad that such games have been made for us to enjoy. A gamer could not be more pleased.

  • @gamerIV Indeed and I hope to God Deus Ex 3 continues the epicness of the franchise. To be honest it being delayed might be a good thing for them to find more bugs to fix ahead of launch date.

  • @Gamer1990100

Believe me, you have nothing to worry about unless something terrible happened between the coding of detroit and the rest of the game. It's fantastic. Very open, and you can play it any way you want to. More open than the first, actually. In terms of open content and just stuff to do, Detroit in DE3 blows Hell's Kitchen and even Hong Kong out of the water. It's even got the dicking around potential.

Also, the original game's soundtrack plays on radios. That's always nice.

  • @derpguyjohn Sweet!

  • @derpguyjohn

But the game isn't even out yet.

  • @Morrowinda two words my friend: leaked beta

Either that or this guy is making stuff up

  • @Morrowinda Leaked demo

  • @Gamer1990100 why are people comparing ass effect to Sexy Ex? that's sacrilegious.

  • @frankDPW

Thats because masss effects sucks monkey balls hard and Deus ex is just the epicness^3

  • This reminds me of Age of Empires :P

  • @HumanJarv it certainly gives the feel of one of the earlier Age of Empires doesn't it? XD

  • @dragon5521 Haha, it really does! :D

  • Deus Ex? Amazing game.

    Mass Effect? Amazing game.

I love them both, but I honestly prefer Mass Effect. I don't know why, but I prefer class-based gameplay than just training skills. If both were/n't class-based... Then I guess ME would still win, just because of the more modern graphics. To me, both have equally good gameplay, story, and are just equally good, but graphics do make a difference however small.

If game quality were gold, both game would be Mt Everests, but ME would weigh + 1 gram

  • I prefer the story of mass effect, but deus ex has better music and gameplay (though if the third game has any significant engine upgrades, it might be on the same level).

  • can anyone else hear a security camera at 2:45-46?

  • Such a quaint little market.

  • @HelloHalo117 Quaint? Not with this music.

  • @PirateNaziZombie It's what one of the NPC's in the area says if you talk to her :P

  • @HelloHalo117 I know, it was that British Accent Lady. I just meant that it's hard not to jump around Wan Chai when you hear this music because IT FEELS SO GOOD!

  • Hahaha I remember this stage. I love the Hong Kong stage in this game. Idk why.

  • I am a prototype for a much larger system.

  • @ivory1029, "Unplanned organisms are a question asked by nature and answered by death. You are another kind of question, with another kind of answer".

  • I haven't played this game yet, but this song made me have to get it. Looking forward to an epic game! Totally amazing song btw.

  • I've never played Deus Ex, but I now realize it is imperative that I do! This song is one of the best pieces of music I have ever heard, and I am a fan of all the legendary game soundtracks---Secret of Mana, FFVI, Chrono Trigger, etc! Game music composers need to take a step back from the dull, fully orchestrated music they are blanketing the industry with today and return to the root of what made some of the best game music ever in the first place----digital composition.

  • @zenjiros

not only that but it will open your eyes to the dangers and risks of human unpredictability, government power, and much more.

the strangest thing is that when you beat the game you dont win, each ending has a downside and no true happy ending. the men and women who made this game truly knew what made a human tick and what they would do to either rule or save humanity.

it's quite sad and fearfully true.

it practically defined what will happen in our future.

    so play it...and learn.

  • @zenjiros

I can't believe that I never caught on myself, but now I think about it, almost all video game pieces I can recall having loved were digitally composed. It could just be a style of game I prefer or maybe you are right about it.

  • One of the most wonderful pieces of game music ever. Even for someone who didn't go through the game it's amazing, and if someone played Deus Ex in the first place, it brings great memories as well. One of the best, period.

  • @daviduzz

    Agreeee :D

  • "I CAN TELL THEM YOU'RE A SPY, AND THEY WILL KILL YOU!"

  • @conchudo12345

O YEAH? WELL I KNOW THE DRAGON HEAD >:U

  • @UtubeH8tr I heard that little kids voice when I read your comment.

  • @Cocoshimmy

    "I don't understand" ~JC Denton

  • Deus Ex was my first non-linear game. From the mid-late 90s to about midway through the 2000s, I didn't have a PC capable of playing new games, and was primarily a console gamer.

I had no knowledge of Deus Ex and picked it up for £5 used for the PS2. I thought it'd be just a little average game to pass the time.

    HOW WRONG I WAS.

Wan Chai and this music always stick in my head when I think of this game. By this point in the game I was in love with its depth. Fucking remarkable, even today.

  • FOH A GOOD TAIME, TRY DA RUCKY MONEY.

  • really nice quality

  • Hong kong was the best part of this game, I can't wait to play through it again and find out new stuff.. I was blown away when i found jock's apartment and climbed out and adventured the rooftops of hong kong.. mind blowing game.

oh and this is one of the best soundtracks ever.

  • "not advisable for tourists to visit the canals at night"

  • @vteam02

Isn't this a quaint little market?

  • @vteam02 are u sure u pressed the right button?

  • @vteam02 1999 amazing time for games life cinema

  • A Good theme for playing Mahjongg,too.

  • I love how the big rewvirwers like IGN and such place this number 20 of the best games ever, wich is still good ofc... While almost anyone else who has finished the game would place it in the top 3.

  • I wanna play this on my ipod while I'm in the Seattle Chinatown/International district

    LOL

  • @lavahornet2

omg i just did that today. in seattle. a lot more homeless people than deus ex, though

  • @lavahornet2 lol Ive done it. hahahaha makes me wanna run around with a crowbar and break into Uaojamiya (seattles biggest asian market).

  • Christ, this tune brings back memories.

  • i dont really think this is a game. This is mind-f**king Experience with a capital E!!

  • Bob Page: "Soon, I will become pure energy. I will burn like the brightest star."

JC Denton: "You're gonna burn alright."

That's the only FPS/RPG hybrid that has been done as it should. Mass Effects and Alpha Protocol are a joke when compared to Deus Ex. Too bad Deus Ex 2 went consoletard way and destroyed everything that has been so awesome in the first one, and that Human Revolution looks more like DE2 than DE and will probably be shit.

Damn, now I have to install Deus Ex again.

  • @K0njad I agree with you mostly, but i think Deus Ex:HR could be an alright game. The devs says that they are aware of the flaws of the second game and are taking elements from the first, better game. IIRC one of the first jobs of the dev team was to play the first game.

Maybe Deus EX:HR will be a classic of this generation. Who will know..

  • @Empowerless

I don't know but what I have seen and read about HR makes me feel pessimistic about it.

  • @K0njad I know how you feel. Just like Bioshock 1 compared to Bioshock 2. Second was a decent game, but horrible compared to the first.

  • @K0njad

I think Mass Effect is a pretty cool series as well though :/

Deus Ex is still the best.

  • @K0njad Hello, how does it feel to be in Potato Land? Though I'll admit, you have a point. For a change. :3

  • Everytime this is played, it makes me want to play it again...

  • Hands up...who here murdered Louis Pan?

    *Raises Hand*

  • @TemplePhantom *sigh*

*raises hand* the little bastard was a smartass, so I just cut him a little.

  • So awesome!

  • HAND PAINTED CHINA... VERY AUTHENTIC!

  • can't wait for the new Deus Ex I just they don't ruin it

  • I trained my Unarmed skill to Master in anticipation of getting the Dragon's Tooth last time I reinstalled. I was not disappointed.

  • Yeah hearing this music loud in my headphones reminds me of the fantastic journey taken through Hong Kong. I love you Deus Ex...

  • Not advisable for a tourist to visit the canals at night

  • @HoosierMF NOOOO SON OF A WHORE ! YOU FUCKING SHIT ON A STICK ! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU TRESLON !

  • 10 people voted this down because they were Maggie Chow fans.

  • Bob Page: "Soon, I will become pure energy. I will burn like the brightest star." JC Denton: "You're gonna burn alright."

  • Can you get this on cd? This music.

  • i'm not in for the argue... but... gotta say... this is the best game in the history of mankind. the whole f*** lot! it's not about mid-classed kid's ideas in this one, it's just about the game... those of you who experienced this know what i'm talking about. It didn't get GAME OF THE DECADE AWARD for nothing... jesus... 2000-2010 :P that's gotta mean something. So for all of you "red dead redemption'ists" i suggest keep on to your brainwashing 360's and shut the f*** up :D

  • bag the the world was good. We had games with good story great graphics and atmosphere, Half Life, Unreal, Baldurs Gate, System Shock and of course Deus Ex. But todays crap can't compete with that.

  • @D8141 You sure it's not just nostalgia goggles?

  • @Masz52 yepp, i am sure. Back then gamers where still a bit of nerds. So the games weren't that much for the mass market and more aimed at people who wanted a "deep" gameplay. at least thats the way i feel about it ;)

  • @D8141 The difference is that there's no more learning curve. If you can't learn to be a winner in 15 seconds most of the audience (dumbass mid-class kids) go apeshit and run back to their Red Dead Redemptions and Rock Bands.

And the internal cencorship in the game industry seems to be higher than ever. Just look at what they did to Doom3? They are afraid of making innovative choices because they're afraid that the dull mainstream might not feel comfortable of the idea!

  • @fiveMIRrOrs Deus Ex wasn't that complicated.

  • @Masz52 Nope, but compared to what?

  • @fiveMIRrOrs Oh, I misread your comment. You were referring to games in general, not Deus Ex.

I dunno, I don't see anything wrong with games that are easy to pick up and play, like Dragon Quest and Team Fortress 2.

  • Have you tried making a remix to this?

  • I'm playing this game for my first time. I fucking love it.

  • I loved this little Marked in Hong Kong :) So so great memories, Tracer Tong, the Killswitch....

  • so lovable!

  • all of y'all need to check out /watch?v=i6JTvzrpBy0 for the new Deus Ex!!!!!11!1!11one

  • I'm in Hong Kong at the moment, I was walking around Wan Chai earlier and humming this to myself.

Though it really looks nothing like the game, ironically, it looks more futuristic lol. Couldn't find the Majestic 12 Base, obviously didn't look hard enough.

  • @Cluey3 You mean Versal Life? You can't get in until you meet Tracer Tong.

  • I cant actually listen to any of the Deus Ex tracks without feeling soul-crushing nostalgia ;_;

  • Cleared the game twice.

It was very challenging, I wasn't able to save J.C brother at first attempt =(

This music is the best-I love Hong Kong oriental beauty and atmosphere =)

  • Ooooh. People are comparing this game to Mass Effect. Anyone who knows me has seen me gush, fangirl and pee my pants over Mass Effect. I take this as a challenge! I'm going to buy this game right now.

  • @Winter1012 Without a doubt Deus Ex pwns Mass Effect. I have yet to find a game that comes even close to the emotions and strong sense of reality in a story that Deus Ex brings. This isn't just a simple game its a novel read through a mouse and keyboard and they did it perfectly.

  • @Baconbits16 I remember crouching into the ventilation shafts just to feel safe!!! Few games ever had that kind of impact on me.

  • @Baconbits16

Sure it does, I've never played mass effect but i did Deus 3 or 4 times:) It's not a question anyway :)

  • @Baconbits16 YES YES YES! I agree with you 100%!!

  • @Baconbits16 about mass effect vs. deus ex, i'll quote kevin spacey's lex luthor when I say "WRONNNGGGGG"

do not compare. They are both equally amazing.

  • @Baconbits16 I think you have those 2 games switched around. Mass Effect is superior in every way.

  • @charger619c Not in the slightest. And I kind of liked ME. But it's no comparison to DX.

  • @charger619c Are you high?

  • @charger619c This is exactly what I mean. Narrow minded airheads attract and provoke more of the same, and in the end, you are the same as Baconbits16, if not worse. Thank you for proving my point by being a mindless cliche, I guess.

  • @charger619c If you were a realist you wouldn't live in that fantasy world of yours where Mass Effect is better than Deus Ex.

  • Comment removed

  • @charger619c Correction, you are an idiot sir.

  • @charger619c troll! TROLL! You must be because NO ONE WOULD EVER SAY Deus Ex is inferior to Mass Effect *sobs into hands*

  • @Baconbits16 I don't know where this habit of slackly comparing two entirely different great games with each other comes from. It's not only embarassingly stupid and polarising, but provokes a similar behaviour in the fans of the stated "less good" game. Absolutely unnecessary fanboyism.

  • Now I want to reinstall...

  • So awesome it cured my headache!

  • The atmosphere makes this game.

  • awesome music

  • This and Unreal...forget new games, just make HD versions of these and a lot of people will be very happy.

  • @tom10320

Unreal is also a totally awesome game, too bad I never got through it...

  • They don't make games like they used to. What a shame.

  • *nostalgia*

  • this music is like a calm and solacing place where I can go when im confused or in a bad mood

  • MEMORIES!!!!

Played this game so godawfully much!

Think is was one of the rare games with special endings, strange plots and high replay just due to it. Loved the ability to make a freaking choice for once

  • Dragons tooth owned all enemy

    Best music

They'll never make a game as good as this, not even with pc killer graphics

  • I never played the sequel to this game. I read about it though. I wonder what Deus Ex3 will be like? I know its going to be the prequel of Deus Ex with the first of the people with bionics like Gunther.

  • @redwaller66 theyre going back to different ammo types for weapons, andplayers regen health like in modern warfare and such so that tense moments dont have to be interrupted by running around to search for hp items

  • @tomanton Medical attention however IS a tense situation , bleeding to death in a swamp slowly or trying to save the mission. It's just that medpacks is from an old time really, it's possible to make that just as good as any other system. The question is what do you want to do with the game? If you want on the spot fighting only, medkits out the window such as CODMW, if you play a slower pace game as Deus Ex however, Medical systems and skills are a great improvement

  • @N00bkeek i saw health handled best in far cry 2: light wounds gradually healed over time, moderate wounds didn't heal without first aid, and heavy wounds needed immediate attention or you'd bleed out. medkit economies and being good as new after 10 seconds behind cover are both awful game mechanics, but the second is the lesser evil because you will never have a dead end.
