No offence but there is no correct or wrong way to cutting the durian I think. You should refer it to as easy way or the hard way of getting the edible part inside out to eat. The way many people cut open a durian vertically from stem side up is the easy way to getting the edible fruit out. However, the hard way is when its cut horizontally from stem side up. But if you must refer it to as correct or the wrong way of cutting it, then the durian on the video was definitely cut wrong way.

but i wanna give you some tips
1.after you eat durian you need to drink a lot of water..
2.don't drink any carbonate drink bfr or after eating durian
3.try to get the thick and yellow durian
4.don't eat durian to much at the same time...it'll be dangerous
