the movie was a re-imagining in my opinion! they took some of the same stuff from the other movies like the hockey mask, Jason's mom getting her head cut off & the machete! but for the rest of the movie they went somewhere different with the story and what he does with his victims! he did not kill whitney because she was wearing a necklace with Jason's moms picture in it. i thought it was a great movie and a great re-imagining so its a whole new friday the 13th in general.

3:25, discussing how Jason gets his mask. You're wrong on both counts. In this one, it is not in his own storage areas, he finds it in the cluttered barn after finishing off the pot harvester redneck. And in the original, he doesn't find it on a tree or post, left there by some counselor. He takes it off of Shelley after cutting his throat in Part 3.

As far as "timeline", parts 2-4 take place over a 7 day period, not a year. The rest (pt 5 & on) take place over 10 years later.

It's 2009 and this was a good revamp of the series. This time jason actually had a brain and could set up traps and wasn't just a one dimensional killer. I thought this movie was more enjoyable then most of the older ones. and he kept her alive because she looked alot like his mother.
