its not a zeus reference, all the 8 demon sorcerers are based on the taoist ba gua symbols. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Sky, Mountain, Thunder, and Lake ( although lake was reassigned to mean moon here)but yeah, the ba gua symbols all represent on of those, and btw, those symbols, other wise known as trigrams are those same symbols imprinted on the side of the panku box

I know the trigrams. But they could have very well just make all the Demon Sorcerors look Asian, demonic, horrific, or whatever.

The fact is that the guy wears Greco-Roman armor and hurls lightning bolts. That alone could have meant that the writers were trying to allude to the reference, trying to find a character design to it, or trying to say that as a ruler of the ancient world, he ruled what was Ancient Greece and used his massive demon form to proclaim himself a god.

One more thing, the way the story is set up, it is the eight immortals that established the trigram signs to the demon sorcerors and not the other way around. The idea is that the demon sorcerors were probably from different parts of the world and the Chinese Eight Immortals siezed them, gave them Chinese names and a Chinese Trigram rather than the demons actually be of the trigrams themselves; Bai Tza did rule Atlantis after all, it's possible Tchang Zu could have ruled Greece.
