I really like that it is not tack sharp because as Kai says it really renders the images in a beautiful, leica esq way.  The only bad part thing about this lens is how dam noisy it is, and I mean audible aperture noise.

i was never a big fan of leica cameras or optics. but leica did the same thing like carl zeiss in the beginning of the century: they whored themselves by giving cheap lenses their precious name. in my optinion, you don't find REALLY awesome lenses anymore for DSLR or smaller cameras. i really miss the perfect lenses from carl zeiss, schneider kreuznach, rodenstock or olympus for prosumer/consumer cameras.

There are at least 5 fast lenses that got released just now, that's all. Intern Panasonic get Leica to design and develop their FlagShip Lenses for their own Systems and Products. I only currenty own Pansonic Leica products, which are still amazing. I still can't rationalise buying an actual Leica System, but soo tempted.

I wouldn't buy this lens either (considering there's legendary 20mm F1.7 pancake half-priced) but this doesn't mean Pana-Leica isn't a great glass for £450 for ppl that require a bit more portraiture focal length & is far cheaper/lighter than proper leica would cost/weight...
