  • This worked for me and for my SIL. It sounds silly but it worked for my body. I'll give you background.. I lost my milk and was pumping every hour for 15 min straight! I was only getting an ounce. I was a wreck to say the least. Anyways someone told me to tell myself to produce more milk and it totally worked! It really helped fast and I got to nursing exclusively within a week or two. Try it?? Just tell yourself to produce more milk and believe that you will. Your amazing! Keep up the good work

  • You are looking so pretty!! :)

  • You look so beautiful in this video !! AND !!! You are amazing no matter what ends up happening... I am hear for support :)

  • Yay for getting to 5 months! That's amazing Amy, especially with everything that's been going on.

  • wow you look amazing in this video huni

  • You are doing great! If you must supplement a meal a day (or give some of your milk and some formula to some of the meals) when his appetite increases he will still gett the good stuff from your milk:)?

  • You look so stinking cute in this video. Congratulations on making it this far. That is persistence!

  • hey amy can you do a bottle review on what bottles you used to pump into (that connect to pump) and what bottle you use for him daily?? I would really appreciate it!!!

  • You have done so well to even get this far! well done :) fingers crossed for getting to six months!

  • I found this book so helpful!

Exclusively Pumping Breast Milk: A Guide to Providing Expressed Breast Milk for Your Baby

Not just for tips, for the emotional side! Wish I had got it earlier in our journey!

Goodluck and I think you'll get over this speedbump! You can do it! Oh another tip, I found when I dropped down to 5 sessions a day I got more milk than with 6 a day! Crazy right? But its because I have a "large storage capacity" LOL! Theres no way of knowing

  • Hold in there! He may just be having a growth spurt! My DS did this and then would usually settle back to a more normal amount. But they are all different! And I really don't think your milk would have changed - your breasts are just used to making milk now. Maybe start him on solida and see how he goes. But whatever happens be proud of yourself!

  • You have done so well amy!!!! Hoping you make it to the six month mark :)

  • you may have already heard this but I was watching The Dr.s today on tv ( the tv show) and they did a small segment on pumping, and the pediatrician on the show said that beer can help to increase your supply. NON alcoholic of course. He said it is not the alcohol, but something else in the beer that stimulates milk production. Good luck Mama! You are an inspiration to many. =0)

  • Good luck, Amy! Are there donor milk options in your area?

  • My girlfriend exclusively pumped for 18 months

  • You look beautiful! I love your hair! You are doing such an amazing job and you are such an amazing mommy!!!

  • Oh and my son was like that so I started on rice cereal and it helped a lot! I would definetly recommend starting rice cereal on him! Good luck!

  • Mothers Milk tea by Traditional medicinals

  • I am glad you are feeling accomplished! It has been such a long road for you, and you have endured more than most, and still kept plugging away. You are such an inspiration to all breastfeeding mom's out there! Thank you again for always sharing your journey with us. It's so important to share your struggles with others, so they can see that they are not alone. You are AMAZING AMY!

  • I am truly amazed at how well you've done EPing! There are so many women that after a week or even a month give up and say they lost their milk supply, but I think all it is is lack of trying. You have proven you CAN do it!! Have you toyed with the idea of trying breastfeeding again? Just a curiousity question :) GREAT JOB!!

  • Way to go for making it this far! Hopefully the start of solids will help and allow you to have enough supply to make it to your goal. You are looking great, by the way!

  • I think you should be more than proud for making it so far!

  • you can try taking Fenugreek... it is a really great way to increase milk supply

  • I know you don't know me but I just wanted to say I'm proud of you, your doing a great job with both your boys! Great mom!

  • Way to go girl! That is a HUGE accomplishment. Keep at it. When he starts solids it may level out again! You are doing great!!!!

  • You are amazing...period!! :-)

  • Oh just a thought. Have you ever thought about adding cereal to the milk? My son's doctor mentioned it to us. It helps fill him up. IDK What you think about that though.

  • Great Job hun! You should be soooo proud. I just hit the two month mark EP and you're right... exhausting.. Sometimes time slips and I have missed my pumping time so I have to supplement with formula. My Son will NOT latch. He hates it =( My supply is dropping too even though I starting pumping every two hours instead of four. I'm also taking Fenugreek. It seems to help a little for me but everyone is different. Try that maybe?

  • Good job mama! You look great! Love your hair!

  • My sister had really bad clogged ducts when she was EFB and when it cleared, she never produced the same amount of milk. It really decreased for some reason.. maybe that's normal?

  • You are such a role model. You have seriously handled everything so well. Fingers crossed you make to six months and beyond if starting solids helps.

  • What about taking herbs or having a prescription to help with your milk supply. Domperidone helped me relactate, but I am not sure if you can get it in the US. BUT 5 months is amazing! I am jealous you can go every 4 hours though. :p You are one lucky lady. I was doing it every 2-3 hours and sometimes every 1-2 hours. It was such a pain and I honestly hated pumping BM because of that. I'll cross my fingers you go to 6 months like you are hoping. <3

  • @nannerskins Someone is getting back to me on a prescription..thank you. Pumping is SO hard! Having Henry running around getting into things and Evan wanting to be held ..it is so hard. Evan crying while I am pumping is so hard to hear. Thank you! I think i will be able to make it. I am going to do everything I can!

  • You have done so so well Amy and might I say you look amazing !!!!! I have found with Dallas I never had as much milk as with the older two. Hopefully I will be able to feed this baby also but you never know as I think each experience is different. GREAT job you should be so so proud of yourself months is wonderful !!!!

  • Close enough!! :) as long as milk is coming out it still counts!!

  • Aw :) thanks! I never knew exclusively pumping was an option. I never thought I wouldn't be able to breastfeed. I never knew it would be so difficult. But I try not to be sad about it and just be proud at least she had my milk for 6 months! I also exhausted my freezer stash and only had a tiny amount left frozen for her when I stopped....maybe one week after I stopped I ran out.

  • @suezq4369 That is so great! 6 months is awesome! I don't even have a week of frozen milk left. I might have to just round up if I make it to 5 months 3 weeks..LOL! :) We will see.

  • Yeah lack of sleep and stress will lessen supply too. And more pumping, every 2-3hrs, is what I was told from the lactation specialists, in order to increase supply. I hear ya, I barely made it exclusively pumping to 6 months. Be proud!!! I was :) you've done great and it is dedication and time consuming to do.

  • @suezq4369 I think of you often Susie b/c I know you were in my exact situation not long ago. I remember watching your EPing videos. Thank you!

  • I'm loving ur makeup look! It is very natural! I don't know how 2say this without sounding mean. I only mean 2 be helpful &give honest thoughts. U R dehydrated. Even tho I love your lip gloss I notice that ur lips are visibly shriveled. To get fluid out u have to put excess fluid in. When our breast fed babies go through growth spurts & increase feeds we need to increase our water intake too! Drink 8oz of water each time u are pumping. When we become dehydrated our BM is the first thing to go.

  • @tiffandrewplustwo I will start drinking 8 oz at each session. I am terrible at drinking. I know I can do better at that. As for my lips.. it is Minnesota and nine below zero and super dry so that on top of being dehydrated makes for some shriveled lips I guess. LOL! :) I didn't even notice it.

  • You're awesome! Great Job and I hope you can continue like you want!

  • BTW - I have a friend who is a nurse. She doesn't exclusively pump - but she does pump quite a bit. Her supply was down to 1/2 - 1 oz when she was pumping. She is taking a prescription now to help her supply and when she is on the meds she gets 5-8 oz a session. HUGE difference. I can ask her more about what she's taking and pass the info along to you if you are interested. If not - that's fine too - just wanted to run it past you. :D

  • @laurettabear A prescription?! WOW! I never heard of such a thing. I'm still getting 4-5 oz at each pumping session but I was producing more like 5 1/2-6. I'd love to hear what she is taking and research it.

  • Hang in there Amy! You are doing AMAZING!! Over 5 months exclusively pumping - WOW! That's awesome! I know it has been a LOT of hard work on your part. I will be praying that your supply hangs in there 'till 6 months!

  • Awesome job as always Amy! Would you consider taking some Motherlove: More Milk Special Blend? That is what the lactation consultant had me taking when I was pumping for Jasper in the early days. I do think it helped. Anyways, just a thought. Also, starting solids does sound like a good idea.

  • @meadowlarkphoto I'll try calling you tomorrow. I have a few other questions for you too.

  • You are so amazing to have EP this far! And you look gorgeous in this video!

  • I just have to say before I even finish the video, you look gorgeous! I love your hair that length and you just look so beautiful! :) Also, glad to see a video from you again :)

  • I had supply issues and started solids before 6 months, I think that's the only way I made it without using formula. You might find it helps a lot! I think you are doing amazing, I had to pump after each feed and supplement with my first son and it was so hard. Great job!! I hope you make it to your goal!

  • Wow.. 5 months of EPing is absolutely amazing!! I couldn't even do it for a week!! Maybe you could start solids with him, if you haven't already, in addition to his bottle feedings and he may be more satisfied and your milk will go farther? How many ounces is he drinking at a feeding now?

  • @JenNTim509 I went and got solids tonight. I am maybe going to start giving it to him tomorrow. He is drinking 5 1/2-6 oz per feeding.

  • Love your hair and your outift!! Have you found that short hair is easier? I am LOVING my short hair, and I can never grow it out because I am so used to short hair, and it looks cute and good on me so thats how I feel!

  • I'm so proud of you, Amy! Good luck honey and you just do what feels right for your baby :) You are his mommy and you will make the right decision for what the both of you need!

  • @hailiesue17 Thank you Hailie.Hope you are surviving your week alone with the kiddos. I can't imagine! I go crazy when Andy has to work late. Micah comes home late tonight..right? So you DID survive! :) yay

  • Oh no, I hope you start producing more. Probably the only thing you can do is pump more, like you said. Maybe he's going through a growth spurt. You look so pretty by the way! :)

  • I think you are awesome!! If it was me, I would definitly start solids, I would prefer that to formula (and I started solids with all my babies at 4 months anyway). However, even if you have to do some formula, he is still getting lots of breastmilk:)

  • great job am!

  • You've done amazing!! Congrats! :)

  • maybe he's going through a growth spurt? i admire you for exclusively pumping for so long. i don't know if i could have done that. hope you make it to your 6 month goal!

oh btw, i love your new hair do!

  • You look so cute :) I love your hair!

  • Way to go mama!!!! That's amazing! You're amazing!!! :)

  • Your doing a great job! You deserve award! I wish they made them for mom's.

  • woohoo for 5 months! Every milestone deserves a celebration! :)

  • I think you are a wonderful mom Amy. Your boys are lucky to have you.

  • You have done amazingly well Amy!

  • Continued- but they stopped (fingers crossed )at that point. I even sleep through the night now since 6.5months and all is ok so far hoping it stays that way. Good luck to you hoping you reach your goal and maybe even further if you can.

  • Hi You're doing great I'm exclusively pumping 8 months now for my twins. I don't think your milk has lost its fat levels. Pumpers usually have high fat milk mine might be too fatty and if your worried about that what I do I eat almonds and pumpkin seeds every day(healthy fats) And I eat oatmeal once every day and I drink the milkmaid tea usually once per day but I go on/off it as it is expensive. It's probably a growth spurt. I had severe clogged ducts until 4.5months all the time part2..

  • What pump are you using ?

  • Awesome job !!! He is just growing :-)

  • You've done such an awesome job!!!!!

And Twit Twooo look at you! You look hot mama!!

    Love from LeeAnne and myself!

  • @Billabonglova Haha! Thank you!

  • you just have the simulate a marathon nursing session but with the pump. I know its not easy but thats what will boost your production. You should be so proud that you made so far. Its doable but it will take a few days of a lot of time at your pump and with Henry and the diabetes, you won't be able to accomplish that without some help for a few days. Any luck getting him to latch again? Now that he's older you might be able to train him to latch properly with a wide open mouth. Good luck!

  • @jessedholm I just tried to latch him again yesterday and it is just not going to happen. :) Thank you so much! I am going to try to pump longer at each session since that is very doable right now. FX! :) Thank you.

  • Amy you are so pretty!!

  • @BabyAvahAndJovanna Aww. Thanks. **blushing** ;)

  • Amy! You are always adorable but there seems to be a little something extra special about you today :). I don't have advice as I have not been through this but I know you are an amazing mother and have already given your boys so much! They are so lucky to have you! Good luck on making it to 6 months and congrats for making it as far as you have.

  • @MakingLifeSimple You are so sweet! Thank you! I can't wait to meet your little guy! ANY DAY!! EEK! So exciting!! You will do great!! Having a baby is amazing!

  • I hope you make it to six months, but regardless, you have done so well. I can only imagine how difficult exclusive pumping would be. It makes me extremely grateful that I haven't had any problems. Well done!!

  • @ShellyNkidlets Thank you so much!

  • You look great Amy!! He may just be going through a growth spurt? If you can, just pump a couple extra minutes at the end instead of adding an extra pumping. That is what my lactation consultant suggested last week when my milk on the left side decreased a little. That is if you want to ;) you've done an amazing job!!! Don't feel guilty if you have to stop and even more important if you are ready to stop don't let people pressure/guilt you in to it. Im sure you know that already though :)

  • @rachg09890 I am hoping it is a growth spurt! :) Pumping extra is def something I can handle. I am doing that as I type! :) Thank you for that advice!

  • You should look into Milkin Cookies. Frowniebrown86 did a review on them. I guess they really increase your milk production.

  • @babymakesus3 I KNOW! I thought of that! I should contact them and see if I could do a review and giveaway for them.. :)

  • @dreamflight6000 You should! You've done so amazing thus far. With my son I did EP but it only lasted a month as my supply was soooo low and when your taking care of a baby and everything else you have to do it is exhausting! My son had latch issues and I even saw the lactation ladies three times a week for three weeks and it BF just didn't work for us. I'm going to try it again if I have a second child!

  • Great job. Wow u look amazing. Looks like you lost weight

  • @jengilbert3369 Thank you! Yes. I have lost all my baby weight. :)

  • Great job. You looked really pretty in the video today! Hugs

  • @reneelynn1965 Thank you!

  • I am in total awe of you. You have remained so calm about all that has been thrown at you in the last 6 months and the health and wellbeing of your boys has always been your priority. You've done a stirling job, hold your head high and celebrate what you have achieved.

  • @melkingcat Thank you so much!! I will definitely have my own little celebration! :)

  • You are such an amazing mama! Good job making it this far!

  • @1mitchypoo Thank you!

  • Well done for getting this far!! You know whats best for your little man!!

I must say how lovely you look! You have lost alot of weight by the looks of it!(im not saying you needed to before people moan!!!) you look stunning!!!

  • @weloveyou1234 Thank you! Yes, I lost all my baby weight. :) Thank you for noticing!

  • Great job. Keep it up. I wanted to breastfeed my daughter until 12 months, but like you she kept needing more and more and so I eventually stopped around 8 months. I am now doing a surrogacy and about to transfer and hopefully get pregnant if you wanted to subscribe and follow along. Thanks

  • @sbchargerful 8 months is amazing! Thank you!

  • Sounds like he is ready for solids. CONGRATS!!!! 5 months pumping is a super nog deal...and TONS of work. I bf anf pump now and i hate pumping..so its amazing that you have continued pumping for so lONG. Gooo Youu!! :)

  • @4u2nv29 THANK YOU!

  • goodluck hun!

  • @mel11789 Thank you!

  • Wow, don't you look pretty in this video.

And I think a lot of stress is an understatement. I don't know how you do it.

  • @leahkf1 Thank you so much!

  • 5 months, wow!!! You go girl!!

I would defiantly introduce foods, he's a big boy and does probably need that!! And if he's eating solids, it could help with adding back to your freezer stash! :-)

  • @SharingOurLife Thank you! I hope so! That would be so wonderful if I could keep going!

  • you look beautiful! congrats on making it to 5 months..I pray you'll be able to make it to 6 months as well! You've done a great job!

  • @SavedbyGodsGrace04 Thank you!

  • Maybe he's just going threw a growth spurt! Hang in there, you've done so well!

  • @TheBrittbrat2341 I hope it is a growth spurt! :)

  • You look so pretty! Way to go for doing it this long that is great!

  • @cistb Thank you Chelsea!

  • @MistressKittyLynn Thank you! Hope you are doing well with baby #2!

  • ur such a awesome mom!!

  • @misaki52008 Aww. Thank you!

  • You look awesome! You are doing an amazing job. Try prepping your boobs rub the milk toward your nipple before you pump and then again in the middle of pumping. Drink lots and lots and lots of water. Try eating oatmeal, granola bars and taking fenugreek. Good luck! Hope you get your wish 6mo!

  • @stephmatswife Thank you so much!
