  • Proud to be Hawaiian, this is a great example of the influence and culture in the islands.

    Aloha no! from Waialua!

  • Ah, I need to get in touch with my roots. I'll start with this =) mahaloooooo, from FLORIDA

  • @Riscva Hmm...well you go ahead and get in touch with your roots, but my roots are all from Europe (I think, my mom doesn't exactly know where her birth mother is from) and since I'm not such a fan of Scottish, Irish, Italian or Spanish (well, kinda Spanish) music, I'm gonna stick to this (oh yeah I left out French hehe, that was quite dumb because I think I'm more French than anything else) anyway, mahalo from Canada

  • Can someone pleae upload Clay Mortensen's Hula Girl

  • I've lived in Hawaii most my life, but of course I don't speak Hawaiian, can someone tell me what this song is about. This is the best version I've ever heard. Thanks

  • @srtb1 ok first I just wanna say how lucky you are to have lived in hawaii! I've been twice, and last time was three years ago.now, he'eia I haven't a clue what it means, but the song is about nature, I think (correct me if I'm wrong cuz once again three years since I've been)

  • Free Hawai'i from Hanauni K. Trask! Long live HAPA!

  • @Tsnore And her sister, as well. I live Waianae. =Stefan=

  • i lived in wainae for 10 yrs missit

  • Such fond memories come rushing back like waves when I hear this song....

  • Hey! I live right across Manukai Street from He'eia Bay! Surf there most mornings...

  • @DrBlizzardo okay I'm getting somewhere this is not about He'eia on Oahu?

  • @srtb1 No! He'eia Bay in Keauhou, Kona on the Big Island. Kalakaua lived just down Ali'i Drive from there, and this is where he went for the romantic interlude, alluded to in the song...a pretty little bay, immediately north of Keauhou Bay...look at CYRIL PAHINUI's music videos for this song, you can recognize it from those scenes.

  • @DrBlizzardo

thank you! and i've been there when i was a kid. I will say kona is one of the most beautiful places on earth, cant wait to take my wife there. Thank you!

  • Ah home nothing like it
