Homemade Pochade Box for Plein Air Oil or Acrylic Painting

The t-nut is something I didn't know about but it seems like the ideal part of the setup I was looking for. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the info.

Great. Very nice paintings as well. One question: how is the tripod attached to the box?

@jjredner Thanks for the comment! I drilled a hole through the bottom of the box and inserted a 1/4"-20 T-Nut (the size matched my tripod mount screw). The T-Nut is a female threaded nut with spikes which allow it to stick into the wood of the box. Insert the T-Nut from the inside of the box so the tripod can't pull it out. Once installed, screw the tripod's mounting screw into the T-Nut. Good luck.
