amazing tech eh. but think for about 2 seconds. Why the bloody hell was it blocked in the first place. umm, its in my genes. hahaha, dah, wrong. You eat like a wanker, wrong food, too much food, eat in the evening when actually you are about to go to bed, fatty dead animals and diary products and you worry like theres no tomorrow. So many in awe, yet no teaching of how to live properly. None. Zip from johnson and johnson. Just the sales of products. The worst posion of all. At the cost of others
this is an amazing alternative to CABG, heart attacks, and worst case- stroke and death. if you are offered this you are lucky you caught it before anything worse happened.
As ALWAYS, check with your doctor or health care professional. However, from my strictly personal experience, I have two stents implanted and engage in moderately strenous aerobics on a regular basis.
does anyone know if heavy fitness, sports and exersices can harm the stent"...
Now it depends on what you call heavy fitness, sports, and exercises. Generally a reasonable fitness routine shouldn't dislodge a stent, but here again it depends of what you call heavy. Best thing to do is to ask your cardiologist.
@XBanetteX You're scared of putting a long silver "thing" (maybe called a stent!!) in your body. Which is worse...living with the problem that requires it, or the surgery. You should grow up.
does the balloon inflated by air?

@ikaz1992 You'd need to ask a health care professional for the exact answer, but I believe so.

Implacing the stent hurts like the dickens but it is worth the extreem discomfort. Much better than having your chest cracked.

hello everyone
does the first entering thin cord, which hold the stent, kept in the vessel or it is removed after stenting??
rabih2200 3 years ago
No. The balloon catheter guidewire is removed after the stent is implanted.
