  • Is this a good carry for newborns? I'm currently pregnant and trying to find holds for newborns. All the videos and pictures I see are all with older babies.

  • Almost any carry can be used with newborns, as long as you pay attention to their special needs. Newborns are floppy, so you must make sure their position doesn't restrict their breathing. I tend to prefer upright carries (Tummy to Tummy rebozo carry/Front Wrap Cross Carry). It's easier in those carries for me to keep baby's back straight, her chin off her chest, and watch her breathing. It's possible to do that in cradle carries, you just have to wrap more carefully, so she isn't too curled up.
