i do it myself, when you perform live, its always quite refreshing/rewarding to change things around a bit. maybe he had second thoughts about the lyrics after the album was released.

Roubidoux is a town in the far, far eastern suburbs of Los Angeles. Originally a farm town, now it is marked by a great deal of poverty. It has a desolate vibe that is hard to pin down. Is it the isolation, is it the desert surroundings, is it the lack of maintenance? I can't say which.
