  • The elder scrolls GTA 4

  • The Elder Scrolls XXI

  • Apply environment maps to the surface of these buildings, after you've added and bump mapped a texture. Then, get the skybox to rotate ever so slightly, giving the clouds the appearance of high winds. The environment map will reflect these onto the surface of your buildings.

  • It seems you've placed this city on a perfec plane. Why not add a little landscape beneath your building models to create a more realistic affect. Even if it is just very gentle slopes, dictating were run-off goes, such as in a storm drain... Do keep inmind, that the storm drains placed almost everywhere might cause too much cpu usage, but it seems that it may not be an issue (various reasons I do not care to answer for).

  • Remake this and I'm sure Oblivion Online will be completed!!!

  • The Imperial City... Thousands of years since the reign of the Septims. xP

  • This city is crap. Any game can render a textureless bunch of boxes with ease. And on a slow PC.

  • well m8, go nuts and make a better city yourself

  • Not really.. The polygons do have textures, if they didnt theyd be wireframe, and even if it was wireframe, it requires good a pretty gd processor to proces their locations in the world, and even more to render them in a perespective veiw. Infact, polygons have a much bigger impact in rendering speed/lag. If the city was fully textured, youd just need more vid-card memory, its the polys that deteremine processing speed.

  • Ur noob. If there's no texture, it doesn't necessary have to be wireframe. There are no textures used in this vid. It is just flat 3D. OK, there might be one small grey texture used for the entire scene, which doesn't make any difference.

  • > requires good cpu to proces locations in the world, and to render them in a perespective veiw

What kind of nonsense is that?!? Why is it difficult to render locations of objects in the world? Are those boxes moving entities? Do they have physical properties? THEY'RE STATIC!! What's the damn difference if they are rendered in a perspective view??

  • > If the city was textured, youd just need more vid-card memory,

Bullshit again. The scale of a texture also affects the fillrate. A small 32x32 grey texture scaled across the whole scene will not require any extra processing (it would be almost like flat 3d). While a huge 2048x2048 texture spread several times on EACH of the surfaces of those buildings will most probably cause a performance hit for gpu/cpu.

  • It's not crap, it's just the city will need textures before it hits any major performance isues.

  • i really find it funny how you guys are fighting over bloody textures.

    honestly.

no offense, but its major nerdy.

    and honestly, fucking hilarious

  • Sorry, we are passionate. And you're just jealous because all your base R belong to us.

    :P

  • Sir, I game program as a hobby.

Static objects do have physical properties and must be rendered in a perspective view.. otherwise, they would never change size. an inch long object would be an inch long anywhere in the game. Also, a grey city is texterued and therefore needs a better vid-card. Otherwise it would just be either wire-frame or white.

The more textures, the more vidcard memory needed.

  • In a sense, yes it is textured, though he could have used vertex painting set to around a RBG of 150,150,150 on every vertex (easier done than said). If you add sensible textues, bumpmap them, and add lighting coming from the windows, then you may smell the burining coming from inside your computer and hear your video card screaming. But then again.. it depends on the strength of your video card and the amount of RAM you have.

  • touche. :P

  • Yeah, one can also apply a supa dupa texture on a single polygon that would make 3Dmax/Maya render that polygon for hours.

  • A static object is STATIC. Static object cannot be physical, because it is static. You probably mean collision data, right?

Perspective view? So what?!? Changing size? What are you talking about?

The grey city is either flat-shaded or has one freaking small grey texture stretched all across the geometry.

  • Now ... a city that is actually what a city should be in Oblivon!

  • I love it!!! I rate your video 5 stars. It should be 10 stars!!! I love it!!!

  • There needs to be a complete falout 3 conversion for oblivion lol

  • Mirror's edge

  • wow :)

  • Wow...

This place would be awsome with the Deadly Reflexes Flips :D

    I could imagion it now...o_O

  • GTA IV?

  • levels in fallout 3?

  • Mirrors EDGE?!?

  • N.Y.C?

  • Meh. It would ruin the point of 'Elder Scrolls'. If you want a futuristic Elderscrolls, try Fallout.

  • ugh fallout was awful after a few hours, you start to realize that everything looks the same and that no matter where you turn its all burnt grey stuffs....

  • I felt the same way. It's such a great game. But the atmosphere becomes so incredibly bleak after a while.

  • yes, i would imagine it's very colorful and bright in the actual POSTAPOCOLYPTIC WASTELAND

  • No shit, sherlock. Just saying they should have come up with some creative ways to add some sort of a change in scenery a little more often. Like they did with Tranquillity lane and Oasis.

  • AWOOO THREE DAWG.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

i thought i got rid of him when i sold it but hes came back to annoy me

  • Are you crazy?? its elder scrolls NOT elder holovideos D:<

  • imperial city.....IN DA FUTURE!!!!

    XD

  • kinda reminds me of half life 2 cyrodile or something like that

  • lol...city in oblivion...cant really make this go through my mind :P

  • I like the music, music is good, :)

  • What's wrong with you? I play Oblivion to get away from depressing, ugly modern architecture!

  • than you should really get this mod! ^_-

  • Whats the point it's an untextured city

  • I was joking ;)

  • oh haha

    X-P

  • kewl...

  • The buildings aren't modelled, they are procedurally generated using a script in a modelling program. that's why theres no textures, too much UVW mapping.

  • It doesn't say "Oblivion:Best engine ever" it says "City Rendering in Oblivion" with the description "Testing frame rates in Oblivion"

  • ye... testing frame rate... whatever, but you still cant deny the fact that there are "no textures". If there are no textures then the engine will have better frame rate. If they put some textures in there and it still runs at this frame rate then ill be impressed.

  • Not to mention there's no NPCs, and other micellaneous stuff you find in the average Oblivion city. So what does this video actually accomplish?

  • Textures are the details on something in a game

  • Textures and it would be amazing

  • no textures....

  • NO WAY

  • wow, that's pretty good

  • I very much doubt that with the textures applied it would run, especially considering the oblivion engine is so weak.

  • thats a lot of work, wow

  • dude that is sooo cheap u probably made it on gary's mod or something!lol.

  • it says "City Rendering in Oblivion"

  • dont be a douche

  • are u done dude because if you are i dont think im getting it put more work into it

  • Hm, that was made with something like the city generator of c4d?

  • It looks like New York xD

  • performs pretty good, but don't forget that there need to be textures if this should be playable and therefore drops fps ;)

  • i think they should make a elder scroll game when your still in your time but then u can go to the future.

it be pritty funny walking down the streets with armor on shoting civleings with magic killing them with swords it be fun

  • thats been done, but in oblivion style gameplay, IT SHOULD BE AMAZING!!

  • Looks like you just copied and pasted the interface from oblivion onto this, the compass you have doesn't move when you move over. Cool idea, but i think tis a fraud.

  • its testing the cryss mods framerate in oblivion, yes its real, but i dont think it will be released for oblivion. look at the crysisversion to see what its supposed to look like.

  • If the author is using the console command TFC(Toggle Flying Camera) to make this video, then the compass doesn't move. The compass shows which way the character is facing, so if you tfc, the body stays behind and continues facing one direction while you fly around. I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

  • Good place to film a zombie movie ....when its done

  • keep working on it and add textures then use it as a mod :D

  • Actually, could the creator give me this mod?? this looks really cool.

  • im sorry but im homosexual

  • nice cityscape. i like those tall buildings. interesteting designs. did u do these yourself?

  • hahaha

  • Why is everyone on youtube bickering and calling each other retards all of the time?

  • because that's what youtube geeks do, retard!

  • Don't listen to the tools who don't have any skills. Virtual high hive!!! and yes 5/5! Nice work.

  • can you say mad skillz much respect

  • holy shit man, thats insane, nice work, who ever diss this obviously dont know shit or just wants something to chirp on, damn good work

  • holy crap thas rly coo

  • Nice Oblivion in New York

    P.S. YANKEES SUCK!!!

  • holy shit how the fuck did you do that, thats amazing!

  • you retard he's just testing the oblivion engine, I would have given you many thumbs down but the smart people in here found you first. go back to school and stay awake this time, you might want to try not smoking crack before going to class too, you might learn something then

  • Why doesn't anybody read the description and title of the video. This is just to test the Oblivion Engine. All you fuck tarts out there try to understand that he is just testing model rendering.

  • That's awesome mate. Don't listen to the moronic retards that diss just because they don't know shit. Great work!!

  • wow! That's an amazing vid

  • nuke

  • dont listen to any of the sh!t the others are saying. good job on the city :)

  • how can you guys seriously sit here and mock this guy? do you know how hard that would be to make? i mean really guys fuck off

  • You should add some textures, NPCs, and quests to that. Call it the "Gangs of New York" patch.

    Srsly.

  • it looks like new york thats a bad thing.

  • Bo6us, its a little thing called MODDING. btw nice city

  • They're different genres and games... how can you compare the two?

  • moron
